Re: Stealthy? I don't think so

A soft giggle came from her as the dogs danced around each other having fun. She was glad that Triton had calmed down and decided to play instead of trying to take a bite out of its leg. The girl was always kind of worried that the pup would get away and end up getting in trouble either with the humans or with another animal. Frankly just being in an actual city normally stresses her out to no end.

“I am glad he is always there for me. I don’t know how I would make it without him prancing around my feet,” Cail stated with a smile.

The Biqaj was like many of her race with her love of the water, there was no place that would ever feel like home for her. Of course that could be what caused her to be a lone for a long time. Well not completely alone, smiling brightly as the pup playfully growled lowering its front all the way to the ground. While his butt remained high in the air swinging back and forth excited. Triton jumped up and tried to put his paws on the bigger animals head. At least before he realized he couldn’t reach and fell over.

“He is a little too tall for you Triton,” Cail called.

It was adorable to watch the dog try and play with the wolf the way he played with her. If that was not enough to show that they had not been off the water often, then someone wasn’t paying a whole lot of attention. She smiled as the man had to slide closer before Triton ran over his leg in his excitement. Shaking her head the girl chuckled.

“Sorry about that. He gets super excited around other animals. I guess I should have stopped in more so that he would know how to act,” Cail stated and blushed slightly embarrassed.

The girl did not often care what others thought of her, but that changed when it came to how Triton behaved. She had been ridiculed by random people because of the dogs behavior and that was very strange for her. The people from the ships had never been bothered by the animal’s behavior. On the water everything seemed to make more sense. The woman was so happy to hear the man telling her directions. Repeating them in her head over and over, she hoped the way would stick in place.

“Thank you. I promise we will come up soon. I hope you will be there,” Cail beamed and patted her leg.

She was ready to get back to the boat and rest for a bit. All the “sneaking” around had caused her a lot more stress than the woman had ever imagined. Yawning loudly the pup padded over and looked up at his human ready to go. Turning the woman smiled brightly to the man that had come and spoke with her.

“Please come visit us at the docks any time,” she said and smiled and knelt down loving on the pup. Cail even gave Greyhide some love before standing up.

It was good to see someone else with a clear understanding of the intimate bond between man and animal. Even those with a dog at their side weren't guaranteed; they saw their companions as simple tools to achieve a goal and nothing more. "I'm sure he's glad you're there for him, too," he added, needing no cues to bring Greyhide to heel at his side once more as Triton was pulled back. He could feel the wolf's gentle smile hiding at the little one's antics, just like his own. "Besides, I wouldn't worry about stuff like that. No offense, but he's too small to cause any real harm... and anyone causing a stink over it is just being a little overdramatic."

Greyhide gave a final sniff and a bark at Triton before he turned to go. "I'll make sure to, as long as you stop by too! And don't forget what I said; bring Triton!" he laughed, offering a final wave before he turned the corner and joined back in with the rest of the foot traffic. There were still plenty of things to be done and now that they'd been suitably distracted for... honestly he didn't even know how long, he'd forgotten a good deal of them.

"You didn't actually mean any of that stuff about the Thunder Den, right?" After the last incident there, he'd been reluctant to return, on the grounds that most of the fighters would probably recognise him immediately... but hey, it wasn't his fault what happened that day, so really, why shouldn't he try going back a little more often? "I mean, it kinda was your fault." It absolutely was not! Since when did being attacked in the middle of training not constitute self-defense? Besides, he'd given her plenty of opportunities to stop afterwards. He held up his hands and refused to take any responsibility. "Whatever you say. They still won't be happy when you go back. Even if it is with someone else." Well, that'd be their problem. Not his.

A little too late, self-absorbed in a little internal monologue between him and his wolf, he suddenly noticed that the crowds had parted a little too eagerly to slip back into such a crowded street. Moreover, he was starting to notice a lot of odd looks from both vendors and passers-by alike, all giving him a fairly wide berth and glancing towards his legs as well. "Oh crap. Uhh, Greyhide. You're materialised." The wolf stopped, did a little internal gasp, and vanished, earning no small amount of gasps, yells of surprise, and more than a little uneasy rumbling. That... really wasn't the best thing to do in full view of a crowd. Many tended to take it for magic, or something at least similar to it; even those that might understand what it was wouldn't exactly be pleased, so he decided to put the advice he'd given to Cail to good use, quickly hurrying away and keeping his head low as he pressed into the crowds.

If he kept his hands in his pockets and hid as much of his face as possible with a curtain of hair, he could at least prevent a good few people from catching any distinguishable features while not looking too awkward in the throngs, he'd hoped. For a moment he was almost certain that a few people were following him, squeezing through the gaps in the crowds as he hid away in the small clusters of eager buyers crowded around various wooden vendors, haggling for small goods. After a few bits, they seemed to eventually lose interest, and he breathed a heavy sigh of relief, carrying on his way with a little extra haste in his step.
