Okay, due to the sheer volume of reports, and how many of them are along the same lines, we're going to divide this up into to sections, first the ones Kura would directly reply to on an individual level, and the ones she'd do as a whole group. I'm also using summaries of what she's replying to, rather than listing individual reports or threads. Individual Responses "Balthazar wants to go into the Badlands": Kura sends a quick note telling him not too, then shortly afterwards sends a longer note giving more detail on what a massive clustercluck the Badlands are and advising him to maybe build some defenses in that direction. The first note arrives a day after he expresses interest in going to the Badlands, the second a few days later. "The Seasonal Event Threads": Balthazar will get a note telling him to get all of his people into a single building so they can keep warm better, and that he should not interfere with the animals except to save pets. More troops will be arriving to help secure Haven against a possible attack. Current conditions are the outcome of the various attacks Scalvoris has endured the past several years, and she's working on solving it. This is an almost identical note to the one she sent to all the other towns, villages, and Hopetoun. There is also a smaller note informing him that, as of when she sent the note, Elisabeth is safe. This happens a a few hours after his request for information. "Ghosts": Kura skips the copper and bells, instead pulls on her contacts from the War of Death and Souls to get some Zuuda to come deal with Haven's ghost problem. She sends a note saying to treat the Zuuda nicely and not to interfere with them, as they know best how to deal with matters ectoplasmic. The Zuuda, and the accompanying note, arrive a few days after the request. "Sending Farmers to pick up farm stuff": Kura releases a stockpile of seeds and farming equipment to the farmers Balthazar sends, along with a pamphlet of advice on farming that she had the university assemble, since she had the stores set aside when the Settlements were formed. Collective Response A few days prior to the sudden storms and freeze, Balthazar will receive the following letter from Kura. "To Flame Trooper Balthazar Black, leader of the Haven Settlement The reports I have received from you observers are, all told, quite distressing. While I hardly expect you to be happy about your situation, it will be no one's doing but your own if you choose to do nothing to improve it. Attempting to outsmart the psychologist will, quite simply put, be nothing but counterproductive. Moreover, I would strongly recommend against any further attempts to rile up the people of Haven. They are as much Scalvonite citizens as the people living on the mainland, and if you attempt to convince them otherwise, it will only lead to tragedy and harm. As to the development of Haven itself, there are supplies available to both Haven and Hopetoun. Please do make use of them, as it was never my intention, nor that of Saoire or Faldrass, to simply throw some Scalvonite settlers on a wrecked island and tell them to fend for themselves. However, the use of these materials will be monitered. They are for the improvement of the settlement as a whole, and while houses are part of that, building yourself a big house so you can brag about your position is not, in any way, an improvement of the settlement. Next, as to your position itself. I will not tolerate much more of this behavior. I sympathize with your frustrations in having your powers sealed, but it is not well done that you should vent them on the settlers you were asked to lead or on miss Angelus. Do not let your temper stifle them by refusing to allow them access to benefits that being part of Scalvoris gives them. If you are not fit to lead the settlement of Haven, then they will be entrusted to someone who is. Also, your position does not give the power to impose regulations on Scalvonite academic and research institutions. You do not have any powers that are not granted to the village council representatives, and in truth, you have less as you are not a member of the Council. They are free to collect and study specimens as needed, and their regulation is a Council affair. Finally, do not ever attempt to keep information that could prove vital to the security of the island a secret again. If you do, the following message will come with a warrant and quite a few Troopers, as that will, with this warning, be considered treason. Sincerely, Albarech Kura Mareth |

Okay, this is where I take a quick moment to make something very clear. I am not my PC's. I play my PC's very rigidly to their characters, but their actions and words are not my own. Just so as to make sure no one confuses Kura being upset with me being upset. |
