Quacia Community Calendar Submissions

Hello Quacia,

Since this city is open, but without a dedicated moderator, we thought we'd try out a new idea. This thread will be used for a community created calendar. Players and staff alike can submit ideas here for a calendar for the Hot Cycle of 719. This should be compared to the previous calendar here to see if anything could or should be continued, as well as including any local holidays.

Players and staff can submit event ideas that anyone can use, requiring no moderation.

Guest Storytellers or staff can submit moderated event ideas for use. These will be moderated by the person submitting it.

All ideas submitted will be reviewed by Aegis leading up to May 31st. At that time, the thread will be locked and archived, and a calendar will be submitted for everyone to use.

Hot Cycle is Ymiden 1-83 and Saun 1-40.

Event Name: The Divisions Divide
Brief Description: The Third Division of Dragoons remains leaderless, with the majority of the exemplary candidates having died during the Creepborne battle of the 80th of Zi'da, and the events that followed. As a result of this gap in command, several of the middle-rung Dragoons from the other two divisions begin to squabble over the opening and seek aide from the Nobility to help legitimize their ambitions. This leads to a great deal of infighting within the Dragoon Corps, and their effectiveness as a whole decreases for the foreseeable future.

Naval attacks and shore raids increase in volume and frequency, and the people of Helice are enslaved by the hundreds across the archipelago.
Status: Free to Use

As many of the barony's inhabitants are skilled mages and Dragoons due to their constant skirmishes with the Creep, the nearly fifty thousand residents remain strong against the initial onslaught. Many mages overstep to the point of death and Purifiers are lost to the overwhelm of Ferahorns, but the city survives the first deadly wave.

Date: 74th of Ymiden 719
Event Name: Cuena Falls

Thousands of Ferahorns flood into the city after the walls are torn down by Oak and Cedar Trees, with many of the residents of the barony fleeing onto the ships of its walled harbor district. Those that remain are slaughtered en masse and dragged back into the forest, with the Creep's overgrowth consuming the barony's castle and surrounding infrastructure to serve as a fortress for Creepheart to continue their expanding operations.
Status: Free to Use

Date: 76th of Ymiden 719
Event Name: Grief and Wroth
Brief Description: As word of the prosperous barony's collapse meets the ears of the Quacian people, all sections of the city gather in sorrow and vigil at the pain of what has been lost and the fear of what fate may befall the capital before long. King Arkenstone makes a public declaration of his sorrow, and declares the leader of the Third Division of Dragoons, ending the standstill. Regardless, his failure to determine a candidate for such a long period of time is widely mocked and criticized, and many blame the King for this failure. Mass rioting follows the vigil, with the Heap's Commune putting forward an official demand for abdication.

Thousands of Helian slaves are either kept within the Isle or brought back to Quacia to be showcased around the city. A migration of some Nobles and wealthy merchants begins to pour onto the Isle, leaving the openings of a power vacuum within the city that the Heap's Commune and Theocratum quickly fill.

Prince Estavao is quick to claim the reins of power from his deceased father, and delivers explicit instructions not to allow Aleixo into the city or its neighboring shores. As a prudent and calculated man, driven by his desire to rule a successful dominion, many believe that King Estavao's ascension is the beginning of a new age of prosperity for the Kingdom.

Date 75th of Ymiden
Event Name: Lottery is Held by the Theocratum.
Brief Description: The efforts to forestall hunger amid the chaos of the Plenty's fall and grumblings of the lower classes have floundered miserably. A mandatory lottery is held. The previously issued vouchers against Sacred duty are sold, bartered, and traded among the multitude. At first these vouchers are honored, and those chosen by lottery are allowed to escape Sacred Duty. Then forgeries begin popping up here and there, as the underclass begins to get desperate. The inflation caused by this influx of well-forged vouchers prompt the Theocratum to up the price of exemption from Sacred Duty. No less than five vouchers being required in order to escape it when one is chosen.

A rallying cry among the Heaps begins to emerge, as only the very rich can afford to escape the harvest. "Pegue a gordura." or Take the Fat in common. As it becomes clear to the Heaps that there is a class divide between those chosen for Sacred Duty, and those with the vouchers to escape, the cry morphs into "Coma o Rico" or Eat the Rich.

Re: Quacia Community Calendar Submissions

I have updated my previous post with suggestions that fit more with the change to what happens with Emea in Ymiden! And added a bit more hope for poor Quacia, maybe.
