The Black Cats Headquarters
The exterior of the headquarters for The Black Cats mercenary company, which was established in Vhalar of 722, looks like a ship that had a third taken off the bow before being flipped upside down and set in Almund. Hanging from a post just outside the building is a roughly made copy of the old company's sign. Constructed almost entirely of wood and designed to look like the inside of a ship, the front doors of the headquarters let into an average sized reception area with seating for those who did not make an appointment. The room is decently furnished and the receptionist's desk sits at the far side with a door on both the right and the left of it. All guests are greeted at the door by Dane and weapons are taken to ensure no conflict transpires within the shop.
All weapons are returned upon exiting the building.
After being greeted by Dane, guests are shown to Avery Fairchild who will further direct them depending on their needs. Customers who come for immediate services will be sent through the door on the left and customers who come to establish longer contracts are lead through the door on the right.
Both doors lead into a hallway with two doors on the left side and two doors staggered on the right side. Each of those doors leads into a smaller office where customers are asked to wait until a member of the company can come speak with them to figure out the details of the contract. Most often, the first person that they will be interviewed by is Elsa Ironsight and she directs them from there. The offices are fairly simple in design. Each one contains a desk with one chair behind the desk and two chairs in front of it. Some offices are more decorated but the interior decoration depends on who occupies the office the majority of the time.
There is another door at the end of the hallways which leads into a large gymnasium which can be used for training and meetings. The gymnasium is fairly open in design with weapon racks on the walls, a sand pit in the middle, and archery targets on the far wall. There are various rings drawn on the ground and lines that are used for different exercises. There are two doors out of the gymnasium on the right, one which leads to a barracks style housing area for members of the company and another which leads into a bathhouse. The last door in the gymnasium is along the far wall, safely away from the archery targets, and it leads into the head of the company's office.

Hi Balth
Couple of things here - which just need clearing up.
1. If you want a shop that sells stuff, then you'll need to put in a Business Proposal. You've got a shop + merc company here. I'm aware that this was based on another merc company that got approved with the same set-up, but that was an oversight on our part. The combined business / faction can be in the same building, but you need to have clear proposals / write ups for both. Thanks!
2. I believe you're using the Black Cats in RP? Can you clarify please? Thanks

Hey, hello! Thank you for taking this ticket for me. I have a few questions, based around my concerns about the set up cost compared to the freedom to do what the PC wants with the space, and then a response to your questions for part two.
1a. I can adjust this proposal to focus on either the mercenary or the shop part of the intended Black Cats since I think that is the problem due to required skills, but I have a clarification question down below.
1b. Should I submit the Black Cats (the mercenary company) as a faction and follow the faction guide for benefits that they'd gain (since my takeaway is that mercenary companies aren't a business?) and then submit a different "Black Cats Forge and Foundry" as a business proposal that would track their selling of forged goods? (I'd run them out of the same building, but it would be the two different proposals.) Dividing the shop from the company offices wouldn't be too much work, I'd just have to adjust a little math for it. I had an idea somewhat along those lines for later expansion that would focus more explicitly just on the business side of running a store (it was going to be a tavern, but thats both a different building and far besides the point right now, sorry).
1c. Alternatively, am I wrong interpreting that the Black Cats Mercenary part can't be a business and must be a faction? In which case I can edit the current proposal to get rid of the shop angle of the headquarters and submit a different "Black Cats Forge and Foundry" proposal to add the shop on at a later time?
2. I am using the name 'Black Cats' in RP right now but I'm trying not to play it the same way I'd play the mercenary company I'm proposing here. Balthazar is traveling with a group of followers loyal to him (Personal NPCs and the Renown Reward group of 10) which he initially referred to as 'the company' before members of the group convinced him to call them 'The Black Cats' since his surname is Black and they found it fitting. At this point they do not and have not been RPed as having a centralized base for them to operate out of- gaining one would be the goal of this proposal. (That and gaining the actual benefits of running a business since none of the current "Black Cat" threads have earned WP for them, they are all just threads of Balthazar making trades with NPCs and working things with his NPCs) In story continuity he is just using the familiar name at the moment since without a headquarters they aren't much different than a group of sellswords traveling around and pretending to be Black Cats (I think). So for things like the Merchant's Guild threads and the Beachfang series, he is really just referring to his group of loyalists when he makes offers and plans regarding his group of followers. I attempt to present it as Balthazar is working towards the goal of having the group fully developed with a headquarters, but until he can afford the building for it he is just trying to reignite their reputation in Scalvoris. Big things the proposal would change is that they'd become centralized, have a headquarters for people to find them at instead of having to find Balthazar or one of his NPCs personally, and the proposal includes NPCs who are not currently in Balthazar's team that he would recruit once they have a building since they'd be more versed in the business side than him.

Ok - so - to clarify here.
1. You can totally run them out of the same place etc. This is just about the "mechanics" of trying to put two things in one - that don't all fit in terms of a proposal.
2. You've got a Mercenary Company which runs on Balth's Leadership but you've
also got a business (the foundry / forge etc) which would be based on his Business Management skill.
3. I don't think they're a faction, really - I think what you've got there is a merc company. So to my mind, the simplest thing for you to do is to a) edit this proposal to only be about the mercenary company and b) add a proposal for the shop parts. You could do that in the same first post (separated out, but in the same post) or in the post below. Just separate out what is merc and what is merchant, yeah?

Perfect! That's what I thought - but I just wanted to check. Thankee!

To keep things a little simpler for this portion, and to get the actual mercenary company going, I've just removed and saved the portions of the proposal relating to the shop. To that end, I've shifted some of the NPCs from the original draft to focus on the mercenary type people that Balthazar would bring into the fold instead of the merchant type people.
I'll submit another proposal to add the Forge and Foundry shop on at a later time when it becomes a little more relevant to what the Black Cats are doing and I'll specify in that proposal that it is attached to the mercenary headquarters. I still intend to add it later because IC Balthazar enjoys smithing and would want to turn a profit for all the metal he plays with, but right now it would cost Balthazar more than he'd want to put into it given his practically non-existent business management skill. I have a few different expansions to 'The Black Cats' planned but it's probably best if I focus on one thing at a time so for right now, I'm going to focus on the mercenary side. Plus, technically he does not meet the requirement to start a shop until he is competent in Business Management since it needs to be at 25 minimum for it.
I've also made some changes towards the target wealth tier since I think I misunderstood the base cost stuff when I first applied and used Balth's wealth tier for the base cost instead of the target tier cost. His loan stuff is still the same though so he is just gonna do the other 7 WP himself.
TL;DR: I'm just gonna focus on the merc stuff for now and I've adjusted the wealth tier stuff.
That said, I think it's up to date now.

Ok so - apologies for the delays! Please do feel free to only take your loan out in the current cycle.
I'm happy to approve the Mercenary Company here. This is approved and you can post up the location on the forum, and then we can link it in the link maps, etc.
If you want to add a business to it that is anything except the merc company, just pop up a business proposal and we'll go from there!
Thanks for putting up with my fussing, you're fab!
