The birth of Daliane Andaris is nothing remarkable. He was born the second child of the Duke's youngest son and therefore, will never have any claim to his title or even the one Gavin Andaris, his father, was given. Daliane Andaris will never climb the ranks and give himself a greater title than the one he has now. But that does not mean he will not get any recognition; the moment he was born, it was clear to his family that he would be of exceptional beauty. He would be prettier than his sister, his brother and maybe even his mother, who was chosen because of her own exotic look. Daliane was such an alluring babe, he drawed the attention of House Venora, who were already making plans of betrothing one of their own to him. Actually, House Venora felt the need to foster the young noble and an agreement was made that once he became of a certain age, he would live with them.
As an infant, Daliane's mother kept him close and never gave in to the upper class norms. Rah'lyn never handed her child over to another woman to take care of and she never gave her child to a wet nurse, preferring to breastfeed her son herself. In just those few months of being alive, Daliane became rather close to his mother, recognizing who Rah'lyn was to him before he turned an arc old. Daliane was very clingy as an infant, wailing when ever he was not in his mother's arms. The boy's relationship with his father was strained because of how clingy the mixed babe was to his mother, his poor father never got the chance to hold or even care for Daliane. Instead, Gavin Andaris left him completely in his mother care, hardly acknowledging that he even had a another son.
By the time Daliane turned two arcs, his sister was born and all the attention his mother once gave him shifted toward her. Daliane did not mind this either, this sort of thing happened when a new child came along. But after the birth of his sister, Daliane became the responsibility of a slave. Now that he knew how to walk and being a toddler, he was very curious and made the slave's job difficult. Often, when the slave was not looking, he would run off and explore the large estate known as the Andaris home. Daliane would get lost and sometimes, the entire family would have to pitch in and help look for him. The little boy could be found just about anywhere on the Andaris' estate but mostly wherever the flora grew and the fauna played. He very much enjoyed nature and whenever he was given the chance, he would discover new plants and animals-- trying to learn as much as he can about them.
When he turned five arcs, Daliane's father decided it would be best to send him to school. He spent countless hours learning arithmetic, how to read, writing and the history of his family and city. Daliane struggled a bit in school, he was very good at reading and writing but when it came to arithmetic, he was having trouble. He could not comprehend numbers like everyone else in school and it was because of this, he was forced to stay after and get extra help. But he was not the only student having trouble; there was another classmate who was having the same troubles too. Daliane and the boy became rather close, doing almost everything together. The two played together, they did their schoolwork together and experienced different things together, including their first kiss. Yes, the young lord shared his first kiss with a boy and it was wonderful. It was during that magical moment, Daliane realize he had no interest in girls. Boys struck his fancy; he would only be attracted to the same sex.
Now older, the relationship Daliane has with his father is still strained. The two have absolutely nothing in common and cannot find anything to bond over. However, whilst their relationship is not as strong as the one he shares with his mother, Gavin and Daliane still try to spend as much time as they can together. Daliane accompanied his father to different events, only to carefully watch how he interacts with other nobles. From watching his father, Daliane has learned how the game of thrones actually works. He's also learned of his father's importance to the royal family and the city of Rynmere. Daliane also learned of his family's importance.
The agreement that was made when Daliane was a baby finally went through when he became of eight arcs. He would be fostered by House Venora because of the simple fact that he was beautiful and still remains beautiful. In a way, Daliane kept the peace between the noble houses (which was never disrupted in the first place). House Venora made him aware of his own good looks and he was taught how to use his appearance as a weapon. From one of the oldest house members, he learned how to be persuasive, charming and rhetorical. House Venora taught Daliane their customs and in a way became apart of their house. Daliane connected more with the great family, more than his own and this may be because of his beauty. Members of House Andaris never cared too much for their appearance as much those of House Venora.
The time he spent with the Venoras was great but after spending seven arcs with them, he longed to be with his own family again. He missed his brother, sister, father and especially his mother. He returned home at fifteen arcs, the time away did not change him much. He cared more for his appearance but that was just about it. Once again, Daliane clinged to his mother. He wanted nothing more than to be with his mother. Daliane not only missed Rah'lyn, he was aware that he is of mixed race and became curious of his Sev'ryn blood. Rah'lyn never talked about where she came from or even her culture; Daliane had to force his mother to talk about it and teach him about the things he did not know.
In a span of two years, he learned how to speak Xanthea. He learned about the bond his mother shares with a special animal and longs for a bond of his own someday. But for now, he enjoys spending his time picking flowers and playing with wild beasts.
