Physical Appearance:

Among the young women masses of Idalos, Nairi stands among the average female at five foot seven inches. Having been highly involved with several types of physical activities in her life, her physique is athletic and slightly toned, yet still retaining a decent amount of curves. Years of early dedication, passion and continued commitment towards activities such as swimming, diving and sailing has helped conditioned her body to reach its peak.

Her bust leans towards being above average-sized, and her waistline is slim and hint of curves, while her thighs are toned, producing a well-curved physique. Her sun kissed skin tone is incredibly commonplace among the populace of the seafaring Biqaj people, and she rarely burns in the sun, only tanning if she spends too much time unprotected in its harsh gaze. However, like all Biqaj, she is silver-blooded and that causes her skin to shimmer beneath the moonlight. To complement her tanned complexion, Nairi has long dark brown hair that falls not far down her shoulders.

Depending on the lighting conditions, the shade of her hair can appear to be black in places with low light, and a lighter shade of brown in places with plenty of light. While she usually lets it down, she is not adverse to tying it up into a ponytail should she require more of a free of movement while engaging in any form of strenuous physical activity. Just like all pure-blooded Biqaj, Nairi’s features are adorned with a pair of almond-shaped eyes that change colours based on her mood, alternating between mostly blue and purple in its default state. Examples of other common colours include red, orange, brown and green.

They sparkle with an intensity of warmth and exuberance, and extremely expressive when it comes to her feelings. They also have an inviting allure to them and are incredibly striking. Her luscious lips are a healthy shade of pink and rest easily on her face, ready to break into a smile at a moment’s notice. She prefers to wear loose comfortable clothing that not only allows the skin to breathe easily.

Personality:

Exuberance and warmth are two qualities that radiate from her, and simply being around her is a great way to brighten a gloomy overcast day. Extremely carefree and free-spirited, she is not necessarily ambitious but still sets aside some goals for herself, namely fun. A keen advocate of anything fun, the lass also frequently strives to inject excitement into her daily life. She does not embarrass easily and is known to be rather thick-skinned, always going with the flow. Despite how she may otherwise look to others, she is actually rather intelligent and is able to pick up on clues and cues easily enough.

Highly adaptable and observant to changing circumstances, these are qualities that have proven to be highly useful when living out on sea as a child. Extremely inquisitive with a constant thirst for knowledge, Nairi often finds delight and learning something new, especially something that she has not encountered before. Acting without prejudice or compulsion, she considers herself to be a true neutral, with no preference to both good or bad. She behaves in a good manner to those that she consider friends and allies, but will only act maliciously against those who have tried to injure her in some way. She do not wish ill on those she does not know, but she also do not care when she hears of evil befalling them.

Better for others to suffer the evil than she and her friends. Highly loyal and trustworthy to those she calls friends, she can be depended on to help in times of need. A highly emotional individual, she is also known to be incredibly passionate about what she believes in. Armed with a fighting spirit, she’s not one to turn down a challenge and usually takes them up willingly and excitedly.

Possessing a good set of morals and always believing that you had to stand up for your beliefs and ideals, she does not take too kindly when she comes across bullies bullying those weaker than them. She’ll mostly likely try to put them in their places or get hurt trying, another consequence of her impulsivity. Nairi can be loud when she needs to be, and equally fierce when the occasion calls for it to stand up for herself or others.

Nairi’s parents Bitzak and Kairi were both Biqaj who grew up in the Qy’ryn clan, which name directly translates into the Clan of Stars. Both Bitzak and Kairi grew up with each other, and it was of no surprise to anyone living in the clan’s flotilla of ships that the two would eventually grow up to be together with one another and set up a family. The couple were extremely devoted to each other and clearly in love and soon conceived a child. On the day of Nairi’s birth, there was a jovial celebration that lasted into a night as the Qy’ryn clan took the birth of newborns seriously, especially for young couples who had just received the blessing of having their first child. The Qy’ryn clan was called the Clan of Stars as compared to most of the other clans, nights were not simply the end of the day for them. It was also something more.

They would often gather on the biggest ship in the flotilla and eat, drink, sing and dance and began telling stories while some would stargaze, and all of these would happen under the blanket of twinkling stars in the night sky. Such events would happen once weekly, and thus that was how the clan came to be known by other Biqaj clans.Nairi grew up into a rather exuberant and inquisitive girl that seemed to want to know anything and everything, and her parents simply could not keep up with the pace of the energetic young girl. From a young age of six arcs, she was taught how to swim, dive and hold her breath underwater, navigation, fishing as well as the basic techniques of seafaring.

She quickly took to the learning of the skills like a duck to water. At the age of twelve arcs, she participated in her first seafaring journey with her clan to the city of Etzos. The city had been an amazing eye opener for all the children and that was the first time she had seen so many beautifuls gems and coloured stones, something the girl had never seen before in her life and the mesmerising sight was not something she would ever forget, for like most Biqaj, she was naturally drawn to such stones. At the age of thirteen arcs, her father taught her all about pearl diving, and Nairi would come to fall in love with it. Finding pearls in the oysters was always a delightful sight and she just liked being under water among all the marine sea life. It was a place where she felt truly comfortable.

Nairi along with the clan’s pearl divers would go for pearls among other shellfish, such as oysters, lobsters, sea urchins and even octopuses at times. They would then sell their haul whenever the flotilla arrives at their next port of call. The rest of the ships would wait out at sea, while a good number of them would dock at the cities ports in smaller ships and boats. In 1st Vhalar 616, when news of the disappearance of the pirates lords and the strange fog surrounding Scalvoris made its way into the clan, the clan elders made the decision to make the trip to Scalvoris now that it was no longer inaccessible. And it would be here at Scalvoris that Nairi and her parents would eventually leave the clan’s flotilla to settle down on the island, where a whole new world of possibilities would open up to her.
