Kali is of average height for her race, an altogether unimposing 5"4, however her small 157lb frame hides well built musculature that lends her more strength than one would first assume from her appearance. Her skin is a light tan, kissed by years in the sun hunting and gathering with her family, with a gentle cascade of freckles for good measure across her face and shoulders. Her thick hair is a rich dark brown, which lends itself to a very slight copper tone when caught by the midday sun, falling in slight waves down to her shoulder blades. When not worn out, the young Sverin pulls it into a no nonsense braid, tucked in on itself at the end. Her eyes are a vibrant periwinkle blue, and they are often drawn into a serious or thoughtful expression (note - as she is marked my Karem her eyes are currently a bright amber).

Like many of her brethren, Kali is marked with tattoos, her sternum proudly displaying the tree she was given after birth. Delicate, yet intricate designs snake down the outside of her right hand, across the back of her palm and along the outer edge of her little finger - reminiscent of vines or creeping flowers.

Kali dresses for function over fashion, her casual outfit being a sleeveless brown v-neck thin hide tunic, laced comfortably at the front and falling to knee length. Around her shoulders in the cooler seasons she wears a wolf hide mantle, held loosely together at the front with leather ties. When hunting she changes to a more fluid sleeveless linen tunic dress with a built in hood, open loosely around the arms and v-neck front and embroidered with a green inlay around the edges, finished with a hafrein fur trim at the bottom. On her legs she wears thin dark leather breeches, and her hands (save for her fingers) wrists and forearms are wrapped in thin leather bands up to her elbows. Over each forearm she wears a sturdy rawhide guard shaped to fit and stained black. Her tunic is cinched at the waist by a study black woven leather belt that houses her water skin and toolbag. Her hunting knife is holstered to her upper thigh with a leather garter style holder and a quiver strapped to her back holds twelve short bow arrows.

Whilst giving off an air of seriousness and dedication to practicality, Kali isn't without her indulgences. Around her neck, she wears a beaded chandelier necklace that once belonged to her grand mother, in colours reminiscent of a spring sunrise in pinks, reds and purples.

Kali'rial has been infected (and cured) of a strange and unnatural disease. This has impacted her immune system. The impact will not be apparent until Vhalar, when the colder weather starts. Kali'rial has developed a sort of "winter hayfever" and in the colder seasons she will experience an almost constant runny nose, sneezing etc. It's not debilitating, just annoying.

It has often been said, in the small talk around Iyọ light, if seriousness were embodied in a person, that person would be Kali. Where others find time to laugh and joke during work or Hunting, Kali is a mask of concentration. There are those that imply she is never interested in fun or games, and as such she tends to be excluded or avoided. The young woman has no close friends, and often she is alone.

Years of travelling the trade routes with her grandparents to sell furs and hide have shaped her to be serious. Don't waste your time on games and social chatter. Focus. Determination. That's what it takes to survive. There's too much out there in the wild wide world that either wants to steal from you or kill you. Her grandparents also taught her to hunt and survive without the security of the village.

This isn't to say Kali wants to be alone. In the seasons where trade slows down and her grandparents stay home, the young woman finds herself wishing she was part of the banter and watches from afar, smiling to herself. She has spent all her life travelling and hunting, that she simply doesn't know where to begin with getting involved in the merriment.

Kali was born in the trees, a blessing to her mother and father who had struggled to conceive for reasons only the Immortals understood. She was their only child, and cherished immensely. For the younger part of her life, the brunette knew only love. It was on the year of her third arc that her parents packed her up in the wagon, to participate in a hunting party that promised to bring back a haul that would keep their family for seasons to come. Other hunters brought families with them, given the time they would be away and the learnings children could find on the hunt.

What occurred as they crossed the vast wilderness of Southern Ionas, Kali was too young to remember. The broken and haunted hunting party stumbled home with far less members than they left with, her parents included in the missing. She was placed into the care of her grandparents, merchants who had not only to deal with the loss of their children, but now had to raise their grandchild. They loved her, but the loss had hurt them. Changed them to be more cautious and afraid of the world. They taught her the ways of the Bow and the Knife, stern out of fear and love. Kali found herself living out most of her younger years in the back of a wagon and around merchant camps.

Over the course of the time, Kali saw many a great people and places, and learned the trade routes that best supported the fur and hide trade. However, the problem with this life was something her grandparents hadn't anticipated. Kali was lonely. She didn't have peers or childhood friends. She had fleeting play dates with other merchant children or city kids, but never a true connection. Even more so, she didn't have a Familiar. No bonded spirit animal to guide and comfort her. Her elders worried a little, but they didn't have the luxury to stop their work to allow her to make a Journey. So on this went, until before she knew it, Kali was no longer a child but a young adult.

Such is the way of life, Kali's grandparents eventually succumbed to age. Her grandmother passed away one beautiful evening under the light of the Full Moon, and her grandfather's will to travel disappeared with her. He retired to Desdind, leaving Kali with the mercantile business. Even so, as an elder he was cherished and cared for. He took Kali aside, milky blue eyes searching her clear periwinkle ones. He implored her to give up the trade life, and to go find her Familiar. Kali made him a promise, and with one last night together, she packed up her things and made her way out in the world alone.

Feet following familiar paths, the young brunette has found herself on Scalvoris Island, ready to open herself to new experiences and find her familiar.

Having been completely spun out by the sight of a dead flunny ear still moving, Qit and Kali both found a lucky rabbits foot (one each). For whatever reason it might be, that rabbit foot seemed to be completely immune to fire - although whoever held it, isn't. However, that meant that they gained a rabbit-foot-eternal-candle which burns at about the brightness of 2 or 3 normal candles. Poor bunny.[/columns]

One of the feathers from her stinky undead halloween chicken has fallen. This makes an excellent quill and never seems to get blunt or smudge ink or anything. It remains a bit stinky, though

+1 Rubert's Gem. The huntress' gem gives her an enhanced sense of smell. When in contact with her skin, this gem allows Kali'rial to ascertain details about others that would be outside of her remit otherwise. With this enhanced sense of smell she can determine emotions via scent. Kali'rial is able to smell fear, panic, attraction etc, giving her the kind of sixth sense possessed by many animals. This works within a fairly limited range of about twenty foot. Of course, it also makes her a lot better as a huntress, but that's probably the least useful bit to her.

Six Skypearl Arrows - These arrows fire through water with the same speed, distance and impact as if fired through air. In addition, they prevent water from causing any detrimental effect to the weapon. Lastly, and perhaps most important, they clarify the distorted trajectory of firing at an object IN the water, when you are on the surface. You will see your target in the position you truly need to fire to hit accurately. Beyond that, your own good aim is still required. You should also be warned that there is a slight swoon of vertigo when your vision returns from the affected vision granted by the arrows' magic. They will retain their power indefinitely, and can be recovered to be used again. But this has the downside of them being able to be used by your enemies as well, if they should be able to determine their unique quality.

For acting in a moment of crisis, Pash, Kali and Kura are rewarded by the Scalvoris Council. They are each given a different item. Kali is given a beautiful masterwork skinning knife. Not only is it functional, it has in it's pommel a large rainbowstone. It makes for a very unique item.[/columns]

Kali'rial has been infected (and cured) of a strange and unnatural disease. This has impacted her immune system. The impact will not be apparent until Vhalar, when the colder weather starts. Kali'rial has developed a sort of "winter hayfever" and in the colder seasons she will experience an almost constant runny nose, sneezing etc. It's not debilitating, just annoying.

Appearance
Dyn'rial has short grey hair bordering on white with a close cropped white beard and golden tanned skin, made leathery from the years of sun beating down on him. His arms and legs are lanky, but strong with flat wirey muscles. He wears a simple hide shirt and pants, and his rheumy eyes are a periwinkle blue - marred somewhat by the milky film of age.
Personality

Perched up on the deck of the home he'd helped build some thirty arcs ago in the arms of an old large tree, Dyn'rial is a bit of a hermit nowadays smoking his ever present pipe and watching the village life around him, having spent the near entirety of his life trading and travelling. These are his elder days, and he now spends them proudly working on his house whilst his grand daughter is off on her Familiar Journey.

A hard old man, he is set in his ways and quick to shoot down anyone that brings him an idea or plan that is emotionally driven or illogical. His wife, Xan'neua passed away a few arcs ago, his daughter and son-in-law were killed when Kali'rial was still a toddler. The brunette huntress is his only remaining living family, and he is fiercely protective of her. Some might say that he was too firm on the child, but not to his face. As an Elder of the community, he is respected for his focused and logical view of things, even if he is sometimes considered the 'grumpy' one

Appearance
Xan'neua has long greying brown hair worn mostly up in a bun or braids, with bronze tanned skin. She wears a simple hide dress dyed a soft dark blue and in the cooler months a knitted woollen cloak. Her eyes are an age faded forest green.
Personality

Before the death of her daughter and son-in-law, Xan'neua was considered a warm and kind hearted Elder who was deeply loved by the younger children of the village for her soft hugs and sneaky cookies. After the death however, she became hard and drawn, no longer the Nonna of the people. She was Kali's biggest critic and hardest teacher, where Dyn'rial might let the youngster slide here or there, Xan'neua allowed no such luxuries. This didn't stop Kali'rial's immense respect and love for the woman that raised her.

Unfortunately her heart was never truly the same after the death of her daughter, and eventually after arcs of trade and toil, she passed away in her sleep in the family wagon during their last trade of the cold seasons. Dyn'rial traded a few arcs more, before he finally packed it in, his heart too heavy to continue without her
