It was just another brightening for Klaudia her job was simple escort a green cloak to the bazaar looking for herbs and books on botany. The place was crawling with low life degenerates just looking to sink there teeth into this naive little morsel that was acting high and mighty like that cloak made his scrawny noodly armed arse immune to danger.

Klaudia carried herself in dignified stride with her heater shield slung around her shoulder and the heft of her steel Gladius dangled capriciously off her hip.

The further they went into what could only be described as tent city the more she could feel there eyes on them. How those wolves were hungry salivating at maw over this little lamb with a fat coin purse, the easiest of marks really. Luckily animals like that abided by the law of the land, as her hand rested on the pommel of her sword. And how quickly they scattered like roaches when they realized this scrumdidlyumptious tid bit was totting armed security.

”See look!”As if to imply his cloak had magically made those back alley muggers dick tuck and run. ”Yep, you certainly showed them”She responded while she sighed rolling her eyes behind his back.”Ethelynda help me”she murmured as they carried on.

Klaudia didn’t have the talents this little runt did, but if getting books could help improve this little twerps capacity to do good then so be it. Klaudia would put up with his I’m a special cupcake bullshit for the greater good.

But even then she’d freely admit that his talents far exceeded her own, he was capable of miracles with his hands while in comparison she could only commit atrocities.

Klaudia put herself down a notch almost mentally reliving brief moments of the past turning a blind eye to people being ripped out of there homes and being burned alive under the child king’s decree, when they first started there were inaccuracies. It was awful to rethink whether those sentenced to be cleansed in fire had truly been guilty of crimes of high treason against the crown.

He really wasn’t so bad her salty private thoughts were just tough love, at least that’s what she told herself to keep her from grabbing the punk and giving him a noogie so fierce he’d look like a friar by the time she was done with his full head of hair.

It wasn’t that bad though he was in fact good people and it was her sworn duty to protect him regardless of whether or not he was a little shit, and at the end of the day he had a gift that he was willing to share with others he just got a little carried away by being a sniveling turd. But what with half the island being washed away in brimstone and fire, his efforts were none the less vitally important.

Klaudia was honor bound and oath-sworn to do so, even if it was a promise to herself she never broke a promise.

As they made the rounds he’d occasionally stop at the vendors rummaging through there inventories of scholarly delight. And sure enough he’d pick up a book or two flipping through pages and unwittingly jangling his coin purse like it was a damn dinner bell.

”Back up, six feet of distance!”Klaudia barked at a scraggly looking pick pocket. ”Go diddle some else’s sack!”As once she had been alerted to the potential threat she involuntarily reacted. Swift legs sprung into action as she lunged forward a short distance between the healer and the would be thief, she put emphasis on don’t fuck with the kid as her hand clasped the handle of her Gladius letting it be known she was ready to go from zero to one hundred on a moments notice.

She would rely on her cloak as she glared with piercing blue eyes that would meet his coupled with threatening body language as she attempted to be as intimidating as possible until the sack chaser got the hint and backed down as she was scrambling to assert her dominance over the situation .

”There was really no need for that, I’m sure he only wanted to ask me about my books. As he attempted to correct Klaudia. ”You know the rules kid, members of the order have been attacked in the past and it’s not happening to you on my watch”she fired back as she patted him on the shoulder and soldiered on with there journey through tent city.

It was true her demeanor on the situation was a bit grave but her nerves were tense and she was on high alert. There were people out there targeting cloaks and the incident in question had only happened not even a season ago. Normally she was passive happy to defend her beliefs integrity and honor, but when she was on detail she was a different person entirely like an alter ego.

Being friendly or a certain way with people while body guarding invited people to get too close and these were people you didn’t know which was an invitation to danger and injury tragedies that could have been avoided. But she was accustomed to trying to be as fierce as she could for everyone’s safety, intimidation as it were was her medium for defense a shield to avoid the confrontation all together. Like a rattle snake her loud noises were a deterrent, don’t tread on me was the aim and if they didn’t that’s when you’d coil and strike.

And the goal well that was to make it back in one piece from her assignment, getting comfortable and dropping your guard on a escort detail in a place like almund was a good way to not come back.

She wasn’t a mercenary for hire either her motivation was different it wasn’t about coins, and hated when asked if she was in fact a hound. She’d been approached by the hounds themselves to do those illicit odd jobs but there was something she found repulsive about hurting others for no reason other then getting paid so she tried her best to avoid there headquarters in Almund. She had learned a certain strength of character to stand her ground to the allure of nels, she knew better then to grab at blood money and that it often had price she couldn’t live with.

She liked to be able to sleep at night.

Klaudia was happy with simplicity, happy with her meals she snagged and happy doing what she did with the order. It was fulfilling and there was something about that kind of lifestyle that seemed so much better then endless wealth and a lack of morals that could never fill an empty soul.
