Small but significant QoL update! We can now transfer / gift WP to any PC who is not ours (not a linked PC to your account(s)
That's handy, innit? The money will leave your WP ledger, and will appear in theirs.

Hello Players,
Today, after a round of voting by volunteers, we've decided to do away with the minutiae of assigning magic xp specifically in order to advance magic skills. From now on, magic skills will be advanced solely by knowledge and standard xp. This doesn't mean that mage pcs can spam low-value techniques for easy knowledge endlessly, however. And we advise more advanced mages to claim non-skill knowledge for minor techniques once they start advancing in their levels. As with most skills, the knowledge you should be gaining ought to be appropriate to your current skill level, whatever that may be.

A Quality of Life Update for us today!
For Mods:
* Many ledgers (Including XP and Renown) now display and sort by the IC ST Thread Date.
* The MCP link in the header now goes directly to the new reviews pending page.
* Added a username search box to all ledger pages in the MCP.
Players:
* Many ledgers (Including XP and Renown) now display and sort by the IC ST Thread Date.
* The UCP link in the header now goes directly to the Character Skills page.
* Fixed some display issues with the menu bar on mobile phones.
* Fixed some display issues on the new Profile Pages on mobile phones.
* Fixed tabs on mobile phones.
* New button style added to the profile page for Character Sheet links and other similar links.

Hello, as an addendum to the above, and to cut off any speculation preemptively, all prior restrictions relating to magic advancement are still in effect. You need to PSF mutations in order to go up in skill levels in magic, you do still need to get initiated and psf when that happens (ideally before you go up to competent so you can have it noted and work out your first mutation in one go). Overstepping still happens, and you're expected to push with level-appropirate knowledges as you advance in levels.

Minor amendment to Tier 2 Skills.
1. They can now be applied for when you have a grand total of 2,400 XP.
2. The 2,500 XP threshold now includes starter skills, etc: eg: It's literally just what your grand total XP is.

Hi all
Tech Guy is currently working on cleaning up the top header bar. As part of that, I've been spending some time on the Wiki (including breaking it... hmmmm) and cleaning up some pages.
Please have a look. Even if you're an experienced player, you never know when there's something useful!
- Jargon Busting - a place with jargon for new players (trial, bit, etc)
- Moderation - I've populated this with the "Types of Thread" information and explained / linked everything from self-mod to GST (I hope!)
- Timekeeping = this is now populated with the "Dates and Calendars" old page that was simply linked there before. Also now has the link to Seasons in there.
- The New Player Information Page is now updated and correct. All the "first level" pages in this category (the ones that appear in the left hand menu) are now populated.
- Progressing Your PC this menu page has now been populated with information about this category.
- Businesses & Factions has been populated with information and links.
- Progressing Renown has been populated with information and links.
I'll keep going with this over the next few days. Thanks!

I'm aware that we've had a lot of exciting new features over the last year and, since Tech Guy and I are working on the Top Header at the moment, I've been looking at what information we have and where.
In light of that, I've put together the beginning of the
User Guide to Standing Trials
This is the "main" guide, which gives overviews and will link to advanced guides as I make them. Currently it has the
Advanced Guide to the UCP and
User Guide to the UCP CS
I have plans to do
An Advanced Guide to the Top Header (once Tech Guy and I have finished it!)
A Guide to the Posting Area (linking to the BB Code Guide on site [ on the top of each page in the announcements] )
A Guide to the Automated Review System for Players
A Guide to the Automated Review System for Volunteers.
A Guide to Topic Tags for Volunteers (we have this but it needs updating)
A Guide to Topic Tags for Players.
Possibly (if needed) a guide to the MCP (moderator control panel).

Huge "THANK YOU!" to Tech Guy. Our next release is here and it's an updated top header!
- Clarified that the queue count on the XP page refers only to Solos, as collars are not subject to queue limits.
- Header navigation improvements:
- Updated all the links for the lore/wiki.
- Added many new sections and new player guides.
- Added deeper links to the UCP Character areas.
]*] Added a drop-down for the ‘Season’ link to offer some quick-facts about the current cycle and seasons, including a Cycle Change Countdown!
I'll get going on the Advanced Guide to the Header for more detail!

Hi,
An exciting improvement today - the process for a new character has been automated. The "Basic CS" can now be done via the UCP where you literally just pick your starter package and skills and it auto-fills all appropriate areas (XP, Knowledge, WP, etc) - this will mean that people can spend less time worrying about how to format their CS etc. The wiki, auto-generate CS and Welcome PM have all been updated to reflect this.
