Jim: Black's beaten everyone now.
Bob: What?
Jim: In the pits. You not heard? He's started fighting monsters and fracture delving to gain new powers.
Bob: What new powers?
Jim: .... Like, Fire-beam eyes...
Bob: Balthazar has FIRE beam eyes?
Jim: Ummm... Yes? YES! Yes, from Slag's Deep. Uhu.
Random Encounter:
Sitting alone one trial, in his home or abode, at a the time whenever that might be, he is approached by a mouse. Approaching with a scurry and a scitter, it scrambles out into the open and pauses just long enough to find out if the man would eat, attack of ignore its approach.
"Mr Black, Sir? Commander of Cats?" It said, by some means bereft of sense or the laws of nature.
"You ARE the commander of cats, yes? Could I employ you please sir? You see, I have a cat problem and could do with your help?... I have some cheese to offer. It's very good... It's Brea..."
If Balthazar finds out more, then the following things will bw found to be true:
- The mouse is a random fall-out event from Fei's fracture and the talking does not last beyond the resolution of the quest.
- The mouse is being hunted by a small family of equally talkative cats int he neighborhood.
- Where this is all occurring is the sight of a minor fracture, which once closed over time, results in all the animals returning to normal.

Jim: Doran's been working with the adedemy a lot recently.
Bob: Yeah, I hear he's working on a top secret research project. Something about squirrels.
Jim: Squirrels?!
Bob: Yeah, you know, they collect a lot of nuts, but do you ever see them eating them?
Jim: Well... No, but Gill says his great uncle was a Cadouri squirrel!
Bob: Of course! I knew it!
Random Encounter:
Doran is approached by the Academy to stand-in for an absent lecturer to cover some classes.
Should he 'fill in' for them, he would find the class to be competent but during one of or all the classes, the students keep asking about the absent lecturer. On one particular occasion, someone approaches him with an expression of great concern, possibly even guilt. They ask about the lecturer's health and during the conversation let something slip either in their manor or words. If he investigates, he will find that:
- The students and their lecturer have been performing 'questionable' possibly even forbidden research experiments.
- The lecturer is leading the students.
- Some kind of accident occurred and the lecturer is suffering some form of backlash/consequence of these experiments.

Gale: Have your heard? About that Dodgy-looking Etzosian diplomat's crew leader.
Jess: No, what? That dude gives me 'the willies'.
Gale: I hear he's trying to improve his image.
Jess: About time. That guy's image needs some 'T. L. C.'. He scared my aunty Flow half to death the other trial, just walking down the street.
Jess: Yeah, he's hired Winston as a jester.
Bob: What?
Jess: Yeah, they have been planning it all season.
Random Encounter:
Always alert, always on the look-out for trouble, Kasoria is rarely caught off guard and over the span of a few Trials, this is no less true as he gradually becomes aware that he is being followed.
Whatever or whomever it is, is moderately talented at remaining discrete, but due to mishaps or the mage's own fastidiousness, he spots the interloper watching him from afar.
If he decide to explore, or perhaps turn on them, he will find them to be a Cadouri researcher that has been following him and studying Kasoria's behaviours, mannerisms and (rather obvious) Mutations.
If challenged, either through persuasion or intimidation, the Cadouri will disclose that they have been trying to verify rumors across Scalvaris of the prevalence of Necromancers in Etzos and can even offer some hints as to the name of people said to be involved in the practice inside the borders of Etzos.

Jim: He can talk to plants? THAT's the best you got? He IS a plant, of course he can talk to them.
Bob: Alright. What you got?
Jim: I heard that if you tickle the roots on his left foot, his right arm jiggles.
Bob: AAAHHHHahahahaha! No way! That's a load of rubbish. Hehe. Funny though.
Jim: No! REALLY! Honest to god, Chilli said they used him as a doorbell at the great tree in Sweetsong for an entire season until he woke up in Cylus.
Bob: What?
Jim: Yeah, hung his foot out a door one side and hung a bell on his hand in the tree. You know he can stretch his arms reeeeaal far...
Bob: That IS true...
Random Encounter:
Kisaik is wondering alone one trial when he is approached by a raggedy looking individual that seems no recognise him instantly. The person almost explosively runs up to him and throws themselves at his feet. "Please help me Sir Kisaik! My farm is in dire straights!"
If he choose to find out more, he will discover:
- The cows are laying eggs and the chickens are producing milk.
- Feel free to invent any number of other similar 'swapps' around the farm.
- It's being caused by a minor fracture and the fall-out from Fei's Fracture.
- The creatures will return to normal once the minor fracture closes.

Klem: Did you hear? They say Kotton's got a gemstone smuggling thing going on!
Sally: Naaah.
Klem: Yeah! Apparently, he's been flashing rare stones around town, then "treating" folks at the clinic to hide the evidence. Some swear they've seen him mixing strange concoctions at the Siren's Embrace.
Sally: Do you think he can get me an Onix?
Klem: *Shrug* Dunno. Either way, think twice before accepting any of Kotton's omelettes!
Random Encounter:
As Kotton hurries through a narrow alley, clutching a satchel close to his chest, he nearly collides with a hooded figure emerging from the shadows. The stranger's eyes widen in recognition.
"Well, well," a raspy voice chuckles. "If it isn't the talk of Scalvoris himself."
The man looks shifty, but not exactly menacing. "I've heard whispers about your... extracurricular activities," Vex says, circling Kotton like a cat toying with its prey. "Gemstones that sparkle a bit too brightly. Patients at the clinic with peculiar symptoms. And let's not forget those intriguing experiments at the Siren's Embrace."
She leans in close, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. "I'm curious, my dear. Are you open for business or just courting disaster?"
Vex's eyes glitter dangerously. "Perhaps we could come to an arrangement. I have clients who'd pay handsomely for gems or any origin. Unless, of course, you'd prefer I share my suspicions with the Town Guard?"

Rumour:
Robert:
Jim: ...What's got yer tongue Bob?
Robert: Shhhh, I'm going by the name me mother called me today. Call me Robert
Jim: Err.... why? Bob's easier on the tongue, y'know.
Robert: I hear Winston won't bring presents this Zielmas if I don't be a good one this year. So I figure respectin my mother's choice of name is a good start toward that.
Jim: Hmmm, You may have a point. I've heard his boats gave him no end of trouble, and Winston named them weird names for the sake of the trouble he done had.
Robert: Heard that too. Sooo, what else is going Jim?
James: Call me James, that's what me mother named me.
This season, Winston will often find people presenting their full non-nicknames to him and around him. People will use full names whether appropriate or not. Introducing themselves by first and last and middle names if they have them.
Random Encounter:
While teaching at Saoire's School in his off time, Winston learns of a small group of young cadouri stealing away in the night to the beaches and shores. Their activity brings attention enough to itself that Winston cannot help but notice how sneaky they're trying, and failing to be.
Should he investigate, or follow them, or have them followed, he'll find it simple. Once they arrive at their destination at the edge of the beach, they'll find that the young Cadouri are learning at the feet of a youngish mer, that appears no more than a few arcs old, yet seems very smart and wise. It communicates largely through Mer telepathy. It is teaching some sort of obscure mer philosophy, as it turns out. Although this comes in the form of mer telepathy so it's mostly about feelings and impressions than many words or thoughts.
High Renown Boon!: Congrats on hitting 50 Renown!! This has earned you a wee boon.
This mer can become a new personal npc of Winston. It is no more than five arcs old and appears to be one of the ones that Winston saved a while back. It can be any category of mer. How he relates to Winston is entirely up to you, whether as a loose acquaintance or an adopted child.
However, the mer child has a high aptitude for psychology, and medicine oddly enough.
- Up to 200 skill points, no more than 60 and no less than 10 in one skill. NPC skills are always on a 1:1 ratio and, therefore, out of 100.
- Must have:
- 51 Psychology
- 51 Medicine

Jim: Shhhh.... He can hear you.
Bob: No-no. I have it on good authority he's been banished from Scalvoris.
Simon: I heard he was put on a secret mission.
Bob: Not very bloody secret then is it?
Simon: *HRUMPH*
Bob: Nah, he like got a crew together any everything, he's a goner.
Jim: Nah, that's just what he WANTS you to believe. He has eye's EVERYWHERE...
(One of Woe's informants) John Doe: You lot will believe anything Woe is just on holiday.
Simon: Hmmmm... A tan would do him some good... Who are you again?
Random Encounter:
Woe's informants are prolific and across a place he was banished to leave his eyes remain, his operatives, active or otherwise, are everywhere.
During one early morning dream, he hears word from a little bird (her name is pickle, she likes rainbows and graveyards and very much insists that Woe needs to get more grain in his diet) that there is some kind if trouble in the east of Scalvoris. This mysterious messenger (who manages to dodge his every attempt to gain their true identity during their initial encounter) insists that this is more then just the run-o-the-mill Scalvoris/Fei weirdness and that things keep appearing and disappearing and no one seems to notice.
High Renown Boon!
Well done for gaining over 50 Renown!
Such a great presence in the community is bound to attract attention and while unorthodox in its appearance, if Woe quests to find out a little more about the Dream-bird, Pickle, you can feel free to PSF them as a permanent NPC with the following unique profile elements:
- Up to 200 skill points, no more than 60 and no less than 10 in one skill. NPC skills are always on a 1:1 ratio and, therefore, out of 100.
- Must have:
- At least Dreamwalking: 50
- At least Intelligence: 40
- At least Stealth: 30
- May only initially be upgraded with 100 PB (due to unique nature of the NPC) and may not take Master in anything, but may develop further IC as usual.
- This NPC is:
- A dreamscape denizen. They have no presence in the real world (unless they are pulled from the dreaming by means IC).
- Is a bird and considers its 'bird avatar' as its natural state.
- Some unique capabilities you can assume this NPC is capable of:
- They can be used to deliver messages to other dreamers, while they dream.
- They can be used IC as a source for rumours around the Dreamscape IC.
- Can always find Woe while he is in the Dreamscape (unless there are specific reasons/Moderation that suggests otherwise). Pickle does not necessarily know where they are if Woe himself is lost.
Places ~ All of Scalvoris
That being so, since the conclusion of the Pirate Finale, Fei Fracture has been causing extra disruptions and disturbances putting the whole of Scalvoris into weirdness overdrive.
Tis being so, people should feel at liberty to include things of this nature in their threads throughout Scalv:
- This in odd colours (purple cows, green cats, etc.).
- Things in places they might not usually be (don't put dragons in play parks, but cat's in water is fine).
- Cat's that bark and ducks that moo.
- More prevalent evidence of Induck presences.
- Small animals that are normally large and large animals that are usually small.
