Appearance

Murphy is a tall man, broad across the shoulders and the corded with lean muscle throughout the rest of his body, earned from a lifetime of training, caring for and riding his family's prized horses. He has large, long fingered hands, scattered with pale scars and plenty of calluses. Murphy has thick, dark brown hair - very clearly passed to him through his father's side - and the Clyde trademark of deep blue eye's. Generally, Murphy attempts to keep himself clean shaven, but he regularly loses track of time and his own appearance, and as such can often be seen sporting a short, scruffy beard.

When working Murphy dresses for practicality and comfort, choosing garments that are not easily ruined and that are easy and inexpensive to replace. His boots are the only exception, being of impeccably high quality and perfectly suited to one that spends numerous hours climbing up and off saddles days on end. When in more formal settings, Murphy dresses appropriately for his station and for his family's standing, whilst choosing garments modest and flattering to his complexion and body. For the most part he disregards current fashions and instead sticks with what he knows works for him. Murphy also wears glasses, and while he see's fine at a distance, he must rely on them when focusing on anything within arm's length. Because of this he wears them fairly often in social and business settings, and at other times he keeps the tucked away in a pocket, or pushed up onto the top of his head.

Concept

Though Murphy was born and raised in a prominent merchant family, and spends much of his time around nobles, he is far from the type to fit comfortably into upper-class society. At heart he is a man of simple aspirations and motivations, and truly prefers to spend his time tending to his horses and other animals, rather than mingling in social settings. He appreciates peace and quiet, despising the courtly intrigue, maneuvering and backstabbing that is prevalent amongst the circles his family frequents. Whereas his siblings take well to schmoozing and securing business ties, Murphy much rathers to focus on the family trade itself; the horses. He could speak for hours about the family's various stallions and mares, and the difference between the two breeds that they stock and breed.

History

Murphy is the first son of the current Clyde matriarch Adrianna and her husband Thomas, and he is the older brother to three sisters and a younger brother. Though Murphys mother only ascended to the head of the family business around the time that Murphy had turned 17, the young man had still been raised with the heavy influence of the family business hanging over his head, as it was clear that if all went well he would one day be the next family head. From early on Murphy gravitated towards the raising and training of the horses and dogs that his family bred, and very rapidly made his way to the position of Assistant Stable Manager, apprenticing alongside his uncle.

Housing

While in Oakleigh, Murphy resides with his family on their estate. He has a moderately sized bedroom with normal furnishings, however it is rarely used and contains very few personal effects, as when Murphy is in Oakleigh he hardly leaves the grounds and stables.

In Rynmere, Murphy resides in a small apartment in Andaris, once again, little used. It contains one bed, two chairs, one table, two knives, a set of six plates (assorted), one chest, and a fireplace and is 400sqft in size.

While staying at your family home in Oakleigh, a courier arrives with an letter officially inviting the Clyde's to participate in an elite horse competition. While it won't take place until Ashan when the weather warms up, it gives you and your family time to prepare for such an event, with a number of Equine sports available to enlist in from racing, driving, to dressage, etc. Some of Rynmere's (& the Eastern Settlement's) most established trainers will be participating. The trainer with the most impressive stock will win a 200 nel gold prize, and it is rumored the finest horses will be offered a contract to be bred for the Royal Calvary. Such an honor could be quite profitable for the future of the business, as well as offer the prestige your family has always sought after in their schmoozing attempts.
