Beatrice Qe'ryn
Physical Appearance:

With her hair a lovely shade of golden blonde extending down to her chest, they are definitely a great compliment with the ever-changing hues of her eyes. She often wears her locks down in its natural state, but occasionally ties them up into a ponytail to allow ease of movement.

Just like all pure-blooded Biqaj, Beatrice’s features are adorned with a pair of almond-shaped eyes that change colours based on her mood, alternating between blue in its default state, to green, amber and an orangey red. Her eyebrows are another prominent part of her facial features and are arched slightly upwards. They sparkle with an intensity of warmth and sultriness.

They have an inviting allure to them and are incredibly striking. Her luscious lips are a healthy shade of pink and rest easily on her face, ready to break into a smile at a moment’s notice. One of the other unique traits of her race, her ears are slightly pointed, and she usually makes no extra effort to hide them. Her skin is lightly tanned, with a hint of golden undertones and her complexion smooth and unblemished, without any physical scars. However, like all Biqaj, she is silver-blooded and that causes her skin to shimmer beneath the moonlight.

Beatrice stands at 5 feet 8 inches and weighs in at 130 pounds. Having been highly involved with several types of physical activities in her life, her physique is athletic and slightly toned, yet still retaining a decent amount of curves. Years of early dedication and commitment towards activities such as swimming and sailing has helped conditioned her body to reach its peak.

Her bust leans towards being above average-sized, and her waistline is slim and hint of curves, while her thighs are toned, producing a well-curved physique. In terms of clothing, she favours loose clothing along with the occasional form-fitting garments. Frequently seen in blouses and pants, skirts are not an uncommon sight as well. When it comes to colours, she prefers wearing both light and earthy colours, but dark colours are occasionally selected as well. The only jewellery she wears is a bracelet gifted by her parents in her childhood. It is made out gold-plated discs stitched together.

Personality:

Beatrice is as friendly as she is bright. Perhaps in most cases, a little too friendly. Highly extroverted, in addition to the natural Biqaj trait of talking to people she hadn’t met for long like they’ve been friends for ages, the young lass is a great ball of sunshine. Exuberance and warmth are two qualities that radiate from her, and simply being around her is a great way to brighten a gloomy overcast day.

Extremely carefree and free-spirited, she is not necessarily ambitious but still sets aside some goals for herself, namely fun. A keen advocate of anything fun, the lass also frequently strives to inject excitement into her daily life. She does not embarrass easily and is known to be rather thick-skinned, always going with the flow.

Despite how she may otherwise look to others, she is actually rather intelligent and is able to pick up on clues and cues easily enough. Highly adaptable and observant to changing circumstances, these are qualities that have proven to be highly useful when living out on sea as a child. Extremely inquisitive with a constant thirst for knowledge, Beatrice often finds delight and learning something new, especially something that she has not encountered before. Acting without prejudice or compulsion, she considers herself to be a true neutral, with no preference to both good or bad.

She behaves in a good manner to those that she consider friends and allies, but will only act maliciously against those who have tried to injure her in some way. She do not wish ill on those she does not know, but she also do not care when she hears of evil befalling them. Better for others to suffer the evil than she and her friends. Highly loyal and trustworthy to those she calls friends, she can be depended on to help in times of need.

Highly physical and animated, Beatrice is a intensely passionate individual who tends to use a wide variety of gestures to accompany her speech, possibly stemming from the fact that the Biqaj may not think she sounds good enough in her fluency of Common. Not in the least bashful, she often touches others to convey what her feelings mean when her words fail her. Fond of a wide variety of jokes, both bad and good, she is quick-witted and would like to think that she has a great sense of humour. Although she has been speaking Common for many arcs now, her speech still carries the recognisable accent of those who speak Rakahi, but is otherwise warm, smooth and lifting like melted chocolate.

History

Beatrice was born in the city of Ne’haer, the city in Western Idalos with its massive white and silver grey stone harbours. Her parents, Marla and Eddark were modest people who lived in a small flotilla of Biqaj ships. The community they were from was primarily a fishing and trading community who travelled around Idalos, simply exploring and adventuring away.

Their haul would then be sold at the rest towns or cities as they resided where they docked, gathering supplies and enjoying the localities before heading out once more. The young couple’s adventuring through Idalos came to a halt when Marla was pregnant with what would be their first and only child. After Beatrice was born, they resumed their adventuring, joining back up with the community, as they started to make plans to head to Rynmere, and then Andaris, the capital of the island nation.

To say that the couple were proud of their newborn was a gross understatement. Elation filled their faces whenever fellow community members congratulated of the new addition to their family. After the obligatory rest period while the flotilla anchored close to the city, they left, leaving behind Marla, Eddark and Beatrice. The three of them were on their own now, and all they had was each other. Travelling all the way from Ne’haer, Andaris was their home now.

Beatrice grew up into a rather exuberant and inquisitive girl that seemed to want to know anything and everything, and her parents simply could not keep up with the pace of the energetic young girl. From a young age of six arcs, she was taught how to swim, dive and hold her breath underwater, navigation, fishing as well as the art of seafaring. She quickly took to the learning of the skills like a duck to water. At the age of twelve arcs, she participated in her first seafaring journey with her family to the city of Etzos. The city had been a great eye opener for her and that was the first time she had seen so many beautifuls gems and coloured stones, something the girl had never seen before in her life.

Her father was exceptionally skilled in the art of shipbuilding, and was a renowned shipwright within their community that worked on the boats and ships that comprised of the little flotilla. Being the inquisitive little individual that she was, the young girl frequently watched the shipwrights at work, eventually managing to persuade her father to teach her what he knew about shipbuilding.

She was still young then, and spent her time doing mostly basic tasks, and even more time simply observing the adults at work, picking up things on the go. That was her first real foray into shipbuilding though it would go no further because of her young age.

In the meantime, she concentrated on the other things she knew and could do. Back in Andaris, her parents quickly discovered her passion for learning things, and seized the opportunity to ask for a favour of an old friend they trusted and had discovered was living in the city. His name was Bennon, a human who was a carpenter by profession and was highly knowledge about anything woodworking.

He was a great carpenter and was well-liked by both friends and neighbours, as he liked to do up customised furnitures cheaply. After a rather hesitant separation from her parents, they handed the young Beatrice over to the jovial middle-aged man, and informed her that they were intending of undertaking what they used to do before she was born, adventuring through Idalos. Needless to say, the girl was highly upset. They had told her that Bennon was wise and knowledgeable, and would be able to satiate her thirst for knowledge in ways that they know they cannot.

The young Beatrice of fourteen arcs was left with her guardian, as her parents went on the journey of their own. She had initially been terribly upset that they had chose adventuring over her, and wished that they had not left her behind. She was eventually introduced to several other interests in a bid to get her mind of thinking, and it was partly successful.

Sculpting and working with wood was the one thing that both caught and held her attention. The young lass spent many a trial both indoors and outdoors carving and sculpting away at wooden blocks, creating for herself and the other children wooden figurines in exchange for delicious food and tasty treats.

Over the arcs, Beatrice grew into a beautiful young woman, and attracted many of the young men around town. Her comely appearance coupled with her free-spirited nature and the exuberance that radiated from her was considered to be highly compelling and attractive. Highly sought after, she however pursued none of those who were attracted to her.

Unfortunately, there was no news of her parents after all these arcs, and to this day, she continues to remain positive and hopeful that her parents would come back to her one day safe and sound. In the hopes of cheering her up, Bennon brought home a new treat once to cheer up up.

It was a solid brown bar that tasted absolutely heavenly sweet. Beatrice eventually came to know of the treat as chocolate and has definitely taken a fancy towards the sweet treat. The lass then applied to become a woodcarver. A woodcarver with both a passion for fishing and swimming. Despite where she may find herself, the sea would always be with her. The only prized possession she has that is utterly dear to her happens to also be the only jewellery she owns. It was given to her on her thirteenth birthday is made out of gold-plated metal discs stitched together to form a bracelet that she always wears and hardly ever takes out for it is the only connection she has left to her parents.

Housing

Beatrice lives in a third floor apartment located in the Lowtown tier of Andaris city. It is a cramp and one-windowed home that she now lives in after moving out with a similar apartment that she used to live with her guardian, Bennon a couple of blocks away. It contains one bed, two chairs, one table, two knives, a set of six plates (assorted), one chest and a fireplace. A candle holder sits on the table ready to be used whenever she sits there at work. Next to the table in the other corner of the room is a wash basin. The interior of the apartment is coloured a shade of beige, while the exterior is mostly unpainted. A wooden door, the only entrance to her home is covered in worn and fading brown paint.
