Look What You Made Me Do

Cylus 16 718, Evening

Location: The Four In Hand

How much longer did he have until Cylus was over? By now Enrick had experienced more than just enough snow and wintry weather, he'd met a few interesting characters and... well he definitely put himself a little further out there than he normally would. Maybe it was because he had gotten stir crazy, waiting for Ashan to arrive so that all the ice could somehow melt within Scalvoris. The cold didn't bother him so much but... not being able to sail did. That and not being able to sleep in his sloop these days made it easy to be occupied elsewhere, since places like the The Four in Hand were always full of people all the time.

Enrick liked to spend his time drinking mostly but he'd gotten bored of watching people so much, thus interaction became necessity when it really mattered to him the most. He'd already learned enough of others in particular, Aphina who wasn't just a foreigner but a drug dealer also. How was he handling that nifty little bit of info? Quite honestly he didn't care nor worry too much about it. Aphina was just some other girl after all, somebody that likely held little interest in one such as him.

"Ey Enrick, ye gotten quiet again!" One of his fellow fishermen pointed out with an elbow nudge into his bicep.

"Just thinkin' is all." He answered with pat on the man's shoulder as he lifted his mug of beer up, turquoise colored eyes fallen down to it to see how much was left. Alcoholic beverages were always a wonderful commodity to enjoy when it came to passing the time, but these trials Enrick spent more than his share of time thinking on things. Things like Aphina and who she was, where she came from also. Then there was also Qit who he hadn't seen in a while, last he remembered though they had went out on a hunt for the Irrawaddie. She spoke Xanthean quite a bit, because she was a Sev'ryn. A common trait he shared with her by half, while Aphina was actually a Biqaj much like Enrick was the other half.

A fisherman who'd met two different people yet had two likelihood heritages, though technically Enrick knew very little about either quite honestly. What was the big deal though? He didn't mind being a mixed blood but part of the half he knew nothing of, the Sev'ryn half, called for more than just an understanding of existence. Part of him felt incomplete. Missing a portion that needed to be whole, though that part of him remained a mystery even to this day. He took a swig from his mug with the coloration of his eyes more darker, a richer deeper blue now resembled his mood as he furrowed his eyebrow just a little.

Raskalarns greatest failure needed to try and relax but the stress wore on her, and the diri these sweet shadows more then ever were pushing for there way there lulling dark whispers enchanting her with enticement of reuniting with her twin star, they knew the wickedness of her being and had her spellbound with just a taste of forbidden fruit. Her only sanctuary was the butcher shop, it helped put her mind at ease when she was in there; it felt right but there was always that thought over the loom in the tapestry of her dreams that she belonged with her.

But she closed her eyes and felt her heart fluttering in anxieties, she suffered inner turmoil that gnawed on her bones as she tried to make peace with herself. The glass of wine, and her reflection within the sanguine pool her image distorting with the ripples of the commotion around her. Images of being poisoned stirred, disarmed and disrobbed being naked and afraid lust filled eyes for murder most foul as she beat an old woman to death and beyond with a burlap sack and a brick as she dehumanized her.

It made her feel uneasy and sick, but she found resolve to survive to choose who lived and died told herself her injustice was a necessary evil as she clamored for moral high ground as a white knight to conceal her mistake as she had given into her darkest desires. The only question was had it been a nightmare or a fond memory.

She took a moment with the glass and pushed it away, she wanted wine, liked it, but the scalvorian towns folk she no longer trusted. It wasnt what it appeared behind the sunny smiles there were predators hiding in sheeps clothing, shed seen the belly of the beast.

Thoughts of people; Vega could she trust her, she was like wine was she not? Kura Karems child that almost notched an arrow at her? Max was she on her side? Sephira an accessory of the elements that had not provided ample security.

She wearing her equipment, claymore her leather armor and her gauntlets and sabatons even had a dagger. Ornate with the trim of a battlefield commander. It was old though, like Lavana had come from a different time.

There seemed to be another guy, he was sort of mopping around and she couldn't help but sort of inquisitively drink him in, her imagination running wild with the prospects of him being some kind of savage man slayer as her eyes expressed a thrill in the form of a gleam from lantern light that gave them a golden honey hue. Amber eyes were bedazzled by what she thought was a genuine killer, but was he a worthy conquest. Bedding a man wasnt a problem, but it wasnt the same as bedding a woman; with a girl there was no consequence unless she was dirty.

With a man there was a chance she could become pregnant and while she didnt dislike the idea of children. She did enjoy the idea of making a garden and watching her life unfurl around her with her sons and daughters growing like beautiful flowers. She would be forever the same; tending and nurturing what she made. There was an appeal to that a strong desire, what greater a gift to give her mother? Strong capable grandchildren hardened and worthy of there grandmothers affections.

Being a hundred and thirty however blood line was everything. She wanted aggressive children that would blossom into warriors, not what she had done to Raskalarn and blossomed into disappointment, regret and failure. And she didnt know but gods, it would be nice to close her eyes and forget everything for a while.

But shed cover her heart in boundaries as her attention went back to the cup, she pushed away. There was still an affinity for the rusalka mercenary, but she remembered what she said a clear piece of information. Her man would burn her and the whole place down, a bit of envy stirred within but she crinkled her nose at the cup and maybe just maybe shed have to show Maxs man what real wild fire was. As the mortal formulated a strategy to deal with pyromancy quietly, dealing with the revelation on her terms perhaps cued by jealousy.

Look What You Made Me Do

There remained silence until a brief arrival of another who decided they needed to drink, a woman in armor took a spot near Enrick and the platemail seemed to clutter. Clearly she had to be a mercenary or something to decide to wear her gear here, a bit of an enigma quite honestly from the brief glances that Enrick spared her. Dark hair and deep amber eyes were the prominent features he could deter, and while she was a beauty at first glance he didn't think to stare hard in her direction. She seemed a little rough around the edges to say the least, well that's the impression Enrick had developed upon seeing her.

Both he and his fishing buddy looked at her briefly but it was the other fisherman that kept staring, and when she seemed to give a hard look at their direction he turned his head away swiftly. He took a heavy swig from his mug and swallowed hard, his elbow used to nudge Enrick's discreetly atop the counter. Enrick looked to him with a furrowed brow out of curiosity, and the fisherman cast his eyes briefly past Enrick to the new girl next to him. What? Did he want Enrick to ask her out? The half-blood chuckled and gave a slight shake of his head, his own mug raised to his lips so he could take a sip of beer once again. "C'mon Enrick!" His buddy murmured with yet another aggravating nudge to his elbow. "What's got ya so quiet eh?"

"Just a lot on me mind, been stuck in Scal-town t' long." He admitted with a slight shrug as the deep blue in his eyes slowly developed little specks of red.

"Well go on then, let's hear it mate."

The half-blood sighed and looked down to his mug, unsure where he should begin this discussion. The fact he'd done drugs when they weren't really his thing? Or perhaps the fact he'd recently nearly been in a fight against a couple of hard asses? Merces definitely wasn't one to kid around with for sure, and while he stepped in to calm Maxine she definitely would've gotten out of hand. Aphina sure knew of ways to make friends... But that wasn't even scratching the surface of his problems. No...

Enrick had often had dreams he couldn't remember, always the same and always occurring at random. He could remember swimming in waters, waters so serene that he never felt happier. Yet at the same time lonelier. Part of him wondered more about this and what it meant, and why they happened to reoccur so often. Did it have something to do with his heritage? The half of his blood which he knew nothing about? Or was he by all means just crazy in his lonely world? "Been feelin' a lil' lost as o' late, happens when Oi haven't been t' te sea any." He summarized with a shrug as he looked to his friend once more, his eyes once more seemed a deeper blue after just thinking about it all. He wasn't aware however that the woman next to him had taken interest, nor had any inclination to think of him as a potential distraction for the eve.

Lavana sat at the bar and while she looked at the cup she listened and over heard something that sounded like whispering. While Enrick had kept to himself and played it cool, she clearly felt like what was hushly murmered was directed at her. It wasnt that she could decipher hushed whispers it was that electric spark of thrilling exhilaration by what she was seeing in the corner of her eye.

You know, when your friend gawks and gabs in the direction of the person there secretly talking to you about, thinking there slick when they really werent.

Lavana playfully smiled at the cup, amused but more in a complimented kind of way she felt for a lack of better words special. She bit her lip just a little as she tried to contain her enthusiasm.

It was charming to be noticed its not that she needed a man to validate herself it was just the orphan in her that craved to be desired. There was a particular kind of interest in wanting to be coveted, when your discarded and looking over the fence the grass did seem much greener.

She closed her eyes took a deep breath in and exhaled, she decided to have fun and just kick back and enjoy herself as she got up off the bar stool and approached the gloomy blue eyed guy.

"Hey heard you talking shit, got something to say? Dont think I didn't see your friend eye fucking me across the room."

As she spoke she stood over him trying her hand at intimidation with her most powerful womanly weapon trying to harness glower power, that kind of crazy bitch shit that makes a man know that hes dun crossed a line without saying a damn word about it.

The evil eye.

Look What You Made Me Do

Enrick's fellow fishing mate finally let it slide when he dismissed the fact he was quiet, a relief that he enjoyed while it lasted since he'd rather kept it quiet. Sure enough the man next to him glanced a few times at Enrick, and of course past him at the woman focused on him. Enrick could only weakly smile in amusement, another brief gulp of his beer taken just before the woman herself took to react herself.

Normally these instances were easy for Enrick to brush off with a shrug, as he would often remain indifferent towards the displayed aggression. But when the lady next to him insisted that he talked smack, well that already crossed the boundary with Enrick as is. For one he was never the kind of man to foul mouth anybody, unless the person in question had reason to deserve such a disposition. But her? This lofty mercenary who basically challenged his pride in such a way? Oh he sure as hell wasn't going to let that slide so easily. "Oh shit." The fisherman next to him muttered as Enrick's eyes narrowed with a shift in color change, already their hues shone red with traces of silver throughout the iris.

"Te fuck ya talkin' 'bout woman?! Ain't nobody talkin' shit 'bout ya, so don't get pissy cause ye ain't got no fish bitin' yer hook." He growled lowly with a passively aggressive tone, his eyes solely on her as he returned the glare she gave to him. To think she had the audacity to accuse him of slandering! The situation itself already felt skichy to Enrick, and he wasn't afraid of putting himself out there once cards were on the table. "Sure he's been, he's a man with eyes. We sardin' well like eye fekking whoever we please! Ye got a problem wit' it ye can keep it t' yer self."

"There a problem here?" The bartender interjected with his head lowered and voice low, his eyes jumped between Enrick and Lavana with concern.

"Nah," Enrick quickly responded with the corner of his lips tucked into a smirk, "Lil' lass here t'ought she accuse us o' bein' Koyar. Figured Oi'd set tat straight real quick." He assured the man with a tilt of his mug, before he once more took a more prolonged gulp this time. By the Seven did it feel good to drink, it always took the edge off when dealing with uncomfortable situations such as this. The bartender looked from Enrick to the girl and then nodded, and left the two to their own vices while Enrick's fishing buddy paid his tab.

"I'm out. I'll see ya on the morrow Enrick."

"See ya," He chirped to the man over his shoulder while he still eyed the woman, "and ten t'ere were two." He mumbled with the mug placed down in front of him. "So dear, got somethin' on yer mind? Need a stiff drink t' help alleviate the tension?" He offered with a lean back into his chair, the silver in his eyes vivid and bright as he focused on her.

Lavana kept her gaze locked on Enrick as she tried to sniff out fear on his form as his friend seemed a little shook and dipped running for cover at the nearest convenience or that's what she had perceived.

Admittedly she didn't know what she was doing in the seduction game but she liked his demeanor calm like whatever Lavana threw his way was small in comparison to what hed been through as he tilted his beer nonchalantly with what appeared to be a no fucks given attitude within the sphere of his presence.

The mortal born was trying to look for anything, as shed attempted to assail his castle of thought and break him just enough to claim what she wanted by force. But it had failed, Enricks composure was placid and tranquil and Lavana had found herself stranded in unfamiliar territory. Shed been hoping to disarm him just long enough to grab him by the scruff of his shirt and lift him off the seat to just slide her tongue down his throat and simply take him then and their with a show of physical prowess and dominance.

But between the bartender and commentary and his friend the mortal born had found herself bedazzled in second thoughts as his composure had left her disheartened as she glanced off to the side as the wind had been sucked from her sails.

Her confidence was in ruination as every time the biqaq defended himself hed put pressure and doubt on the mortal borns intent.

Well Fuck...

"hrmmmmph, fine I'll have a drink"

Lavana crinkled her nose as shed take her runner up prize a free beer was a lot better then being forced to drink wine alone. Fuck it, shed been dragooned into it as shed take her seat sullenly next to Enrick. The mortal born felt lethargic and weak, if only shed been a little stronger shed of taken what she wanted and laid waste to him in the bedroom. But shed settle for the stiff drink; she guessed if beer could be considered stiff. Girl just wanted to party but luke warm ale wasn't exactly on the menu to get her where she wanted to go. As she discreetly rolled her eyes at thought of other tension alleviating things shed been stone walled from.

A bitch gets used to settling for less though, so the drink it was.

"I'll have a beer?

..

I guess. "

As she looked at him with this are you going to pay for this shit look in her eyes. Hed offer a beer but shed push for more, it's what bitches do after all as shed ask without asking as she eyed the top shelf liquor dreamily.

"So you smoke?" her voiced had a pique of interest, Lavana had bug berries. That was her style maybe hed take her invitation and do some drugs. Nothing hardcore but you know stuff that took the edge off things. " Don't worry it's medicinal!" Lavana cracked a smile and chuckled.

The mortal born pursed her lips and lifted a brow as she cracked the man a smile as she got comfortable on the bar stool.

Sorry bout before, I'm Lavana.

I suppose your not all bad.

What you do for a living? A guy your size I reckon your a mercenary, splitting people open and leaving em screaming with there gizzards hanging like spaghetti."
As Lavana spoke her eyes seemed to come to life again, as she felt she was in the midst of a killer a real savage fucker that spills blood first and asks questions later.

Is this Ricky's brother? Hoho

Kind of a bummer there wasn't more but this is one of the few where it didn't seem to be going anywhere either way, so nothing ventured nothing lost! Just quick not, I'm not sure if it was just a spelling error or not, but you used "deter" when I think you meant "determine" when Enrick was looking at Lavanna and you said he "couldn't remember his dreams" when I think you meant "couldn't quite remember..." or something along those lines. Either way, at least you got some points!
