Confession
Image

Names: Confession

Frequency: Common

Appearance: A deep violet liquid made from cold pressing Iffliol plant leaves, Confession is known to provide users a heavy, sluggish type of high, as though overly indulged in alcohol. Not always the most delightful high, the thick fluid is probably more well known for its truth telling properties. Used to great effect by the Inquisitors, Confession forces the users to say whatever comes to mind, revealing secrets that the user may have wanted to hide.

Toxicity & Hazards: Effects kick in after approx ten bits and last for five breaks. Leaves users severely hung over for the next eight breaks post usage - resulting in light headache, nausea, body aches, sensitivity to light and a really bad craving for carb loaded foods.

Dosage: One tablespoon serve in liquid form. Can be dried into a powder and pressed into tablet form, but the effects take twice as long to occur.

Properties: Aniseed in taste, must be taken exactly as instructed.

Other Information: Over dosage will cause death by heart failure.

Cost 8GN per bottle (ten serves), 80SN per tablet.

Bellesoir
Image

Location: Venora, Rynmere
Baron/Baroness: Kalani and Manu Venora
Line of succession: Oliver Venora, Darcyanna Venora
Appeal: Beautiful floristry and gardens, closest Venora barony to Andaris
Drawback: Only medium in size, it offers little in the way of industry outside aesthetic floral pursuits.

Bellesoir is nestled prettily amongst sweeping fields of flowers and crops that colored the landscape in a patchwork quilt of bounty, stretching around the medium barony in an inviting beautiful feast for the eyes. The township itself is comprised of quaint houses with whitewash walls and pointed thatched rooted, each property dressed with flowers and gardens of their own. Due to this fare, the township hangs with the aroma of flora rich and sweet.

Image

Although Bellesoir is small, it is a place of bustling tourism due to its beauty. People often visit for a stay, enjoying the beauty and partaking in the feasts the farming community provide. Vintage wines, aged cheeses and fine cured meats are all main staples in any of the dining establishments. This tourism keeps the townsfolk both well employed and the streets spotlessly clean - who wants to visit a filthy town?

In the aptly named Rose Street of Bellesoir, the centre of town, there are many wonderful establishments. The Sweet Scents Perfumary, which has been dubbed the finest perfumary in Venora, offers visitors the opportunity to take home the aroma of Bellesoir. Another fine place to visit if one is looking for a good drink with a nice view is The Gilded Lily bar. Small inside, the decor is dark rich polish mahogany lit with glowing ambient wall scones. Round tables that seat up to four people are scattered around, with the establishment able to hold 30 people comfortably. There is a long sweeping bar that takes up the right when you enter, and booth seating right down the back. The front of the Lily however is comprised of floor to ceiling glass doors that can be opened back to allow a spectacular view of the flower fields across the hillsides. To take advantage of this, the Gilded Lily also has alfresco seating out the front under lattice work cover that is covered in intertwined flowering creepers.

Image

For a fine dining experience, Rose Street also houses The Rose Crown, a larger establishment than the Lily, decorated in whites and golds inside. Chandelier lighting compliments the interior and seating is varied but on average it’s four a table. The food here is of exceptional quality, and as such does cost a pretty nel, but it is worth the visit. Once every 5th trial a musician or quartet is hosted. This is an open spot for visiting musicians, they simply need to speak to Ser Anders, the manager.

Along with a couple of cheese shops and a bakery, there is also a butcher and a florist. The Tulips Keep is the main inn, a neat establishment that can rent rooms with single, queen or twin beds. They also have two kingsized suites on the top floor, and one penthouse with roof garden access.

For an experience not to be missed, anyone who visits Bellesoir should make time to stay at The Bluebell Vineyard. A small estate away from the commons, this vineyard hosts some of the best and varied wines in all Venora. Whites, reds and rosés, made with a variety of local fruit and edible flowers. Anyone who you speak to will suggest trying the Elderflower Sparkling White. The estate house doubles as a restaurant downstairs and an inn upstairs, swathed in rose bushes where ever possible.

Novtrevé

Image

Away from the town commons settled on a slight rise is the Novtrevé estate, and like the jewel that she is, the manor itself. A stone wall building with beige hues and pointed spires, it spans wider than it does back, beautiful in its clean lines and symmetry. The long road that leads up to the carriage drop off is lined with neatly manicured lawns and thick evergreens. These trees are intertwined with glowing lanterns on many an evening event, a magical and beautiful sight.

Image

Around the side of the buildings, one will find the rose gardens, perfectly symmetrical and planned out. Once every few arcs the family gardeners change the colors, artfully digging up and planting the new colors whilst keeping the old colored plants alive in a field specifically for the manor gardens. This arc they are wearing the Venora banner colors of magenta, dusted with pinks, purples and reds. In the centre of the rose gardens is a rectangular body of water that houses beautifully carved stone statues of elegant men and women draped so perfectly on pristine arched neck steeds.

Image

Nestled nex to the gardens, a ways into the trees that compliment the estate, there is a quaint hedge maze, and in the center a stone gazebo dressed with creeping roses. As children, the Venora's would remember the roses being red, but over the arcs the colors have been changed to the banner pink colors.

Lennard Bayle :  Race: Human
Age: 44
Title: Steward
Skills: 50 Caregiving, 40 Blades: Longsword, 45 Ranged: Longbow, 40 Logistics

Considered the head steward, Lennard attends to most of the daily upkeep of Notrerevé. He assists in all things logistical, and is often the first to greet new arrivals at the estate. A former guard for Venora, the man is dry and quiet, trained to be so by the Hand. He walks with a limp in his left leg because of an arrow he took a few arcs earlier.

Jirelle le Fleur :  Race: Human
Age: 47
Title: Head Chef
Skills: Cooking 90, Logistics 40, Gardening 50, Mathematics 45, Butchering 70

One of the greatest chefs the Kingdom has ever produced, Jirelle le Fleur runs the kitchens of Notrerevé. Sharp and demanding, Jirelle is often seen hustling to accomplish all her goals, though she loves to garden and write poetry in her spare time. Often looked up to by the three children of the house as wise and stern, she is a sort of surrogate mother in Kalani's absence.

Gav'ren :  Race: Sev'ryn
Age: 24
Title: Stablemaster
Skills: Animal Husbandry 65, Animal Training 60, Mount: Horse 70, Medicine 60, Musical Instrument: Flute 40

A young Sevir, Gav'ren is no novice to horses or their upkeep. Taking to them seemingly from birth, the Sevir grew up caring for the equestrians, learning to ride them earlier than any the barony had ever seen. By his teenage arcs, he had learned how to effectively care for and breed the beasts, seemingly doing so with endless stamina and drive. He is polite and quiet, keeping to himself in his spare time. He is a proficient flautist, though.

Ambre de Relle :  Race: Human
Age: 41
Title: Physician
Skills: Medicine 70, Surgery 70, Caregiving 50, Resistance 30

Ambre de Relle had studied for many an arc at the University of Rynmere, perfecting her medical skills in persuit of a position with the royal family. After earning her Degree however, the woman took a short spell of time to 'find herself' in the sweeping floral barony of Bellesoir. It was here that she met a one Ser Bayle, a young guardsman who had taken a most unfortunate arrow to the knee. After some care, a little time and a lot of stolen kisses, Miss Relle found herself applying for a position at Notreve, to be closer to Ser Bayle. That was nigh on twenty arcs ago. They still haven't yet married, for Ambre considers herself a 'free spirit' and doesn't want to put a label on their romance.

Claudio Raj'ryn :  Race: Biqaj
Age: 38
Title: Weapons Master
Skills: Blades: Rapier 80, Unarmed Combat 70, Ranged: Shortbow 50, Endurance 35, Strength 35, Acrobatic 20

A warrior whose travels have taken him to places such as Nekhet and Nashaki, Claudio is an easy-going man whose cultured approach to weapons has made him an invaluable asset to the barony. Having no formal education, the warrior delights in telling tales while he instructs, mostly of his time abroad and of his two gods, U'frek and Cassion. He is often seen swimming, even when it's cold outside, and loves oceanic animals almost as much as weapons.

The Barony of Ragaeire
Image

Location: Northern Krome
Baron/Baroness: Baron Jersey Krome and Baroness Sophia Krome
First-in-Line: Lady Titania Velaine Krome

Hidden away in northern Krome, Ragaeire is known as one of the more secluded baronies. One might say it is isolated because of its location, nestled between a row of mountains and the white cliffs of Krome. At a glance, the barony seems like a quaint charming place with lush green forests covering its entirety. The people of Rynmere, however, knows that the land houses the infamous Wisp Wood. Needless to say, Ragaeire isn’t exactly the center of trade or culture. The barony is a proud supplier of high-quality fur allover Idalos and home of the Riders of Krome, but other than that, there is probably not many reason for people to visit this part of Krome.

Villages and small towns are spread throughout the land, small pockets of civilization surrounded by wilderness. They usually aren’t big in size, considering Krome’s somewhat mediocre population. Buildings and houses aren’t flashy either, usually built with stones to protect from the harsh winds. The distance between these locations are often considerable, requiring some time traveling between the thick of trees. Roads through the Wisp Wood aren’t so easy to navigate either, which means visitors usually require a native of Ragaeire to accompany them in their travels. Those who decided that they have enough courage to enter the woods however will find that it is a wild and beautiful place, teeming with life and as vibrant as they who lived there.

The people of Ragaeire are known to be stalwart and wild – even in comparison with their Krome brethren. It will be obvious to visitors that the men and women are more at home in the forests than in bustling cities. Even their holidays could attest to that, mostly celebrated wild feasts between the trees that are best described as feral and unrestrained, usually led by the members of House Krome. Despite their love for the forests, these people also harbored a deep respect to it, refusing to take more than they needed. They avoided taking down too many trees for farmland, after all the forests has always provided everything they ever needed. Still, with various dangers prowling in the woods, Ragaeire’s citizens are usually taught how to defend themselves since a young age and learned the lay of the land without need of any map. They take pride especially in their ability to hunt and survive in their untamed land.

Appeals:
  • Lush forests teeming with various floras and faunas.
  • Strategically located and easy to defend.
  • Citizens are well-protected and trained to defend themselves.
Drawbacks:
  • Very minimal amount of farmlands.
  • Towns and villages are somewhat distant from one another.
  • Unpleasant myths and stories regarding the Wisp Woods.
Locations of Interest:
  • Cairnroch: Main Town and location of the Baron’s Estate
  • Aedwulf: Stronghold to the Riders of Krome
  • The Wisp Wood: Dense Forest believed to be inhabited by Wisps and Spirits

Cairnroch

Image

Sitting atop the peak of one of the mountains, Cairnroch is a small fortress that has acted as the reigning baron’s seat for generations. No one knew who built it, but romors say the structure had stood proud even before Gerard Krome claimed the land as his own. Convinced of the fortress’s endurance, a baron of Krome chose it to be his seat of power. As time went by, a busy town grew in its wake, slithering its way down the hill. It bustled with life and trade, enough so that one of the barons decided that protection was to be made to defend it. Stone walls were soon built around it, manned by the fiercest men and women of Krome.

Cairnroch itself is perhaps modest in comparison with most noble estates, another proof of Krome’s pragmatic and simplistic approach to life. One wouldn’t be able to find opulent ballrooms here, but warm great halls to hoast feasts instead. Commoners usually has a free access to the great hall where they might find the baron to voice their opinions, or occasionally the baron would throw parties for its people. Despite the Krome’s considerable willingness to mingle with their people, they also treasure their privacy. Eventhough perhaps it looked rather small from outside, Cairnroch actually has a rather vast underground level built into the mountain. This floor houses the bedrooms and war rooms and dining room where the reigning family can go about their day undisturbed. Not many people have access to it except for the baron’s advisors and the most trusted servants. Even more obscure were the underground routes that travel down the mountains, knowledge possessed only by members of the Krome family – a backup plan should the family needed to escape unnoticed.

Recently, Northern Krome House has been built to serve as a more personal home to the baron’s family. It is located not too far from the capital – purposefully so that the baron can travel between them with ease. However, Cairnroch still acts as the official seat of power of Ragaeire. The reigning baron and baroness are still required to come regularly to hold audiences with their people and attend councils with their most trusted advisors.

Location NPCs
Moderator's Note: Players are free to control NPCs in this location without moderation. However, keep in mind that these are NPCs involved in major events / plots and therefore they can only be used in a 'surface' manner. If in doubt, please check with a Ryn mod.

Ardan Gearailt :  Race: Human
Age: 42
Title: Chancellor of Ragaeire
Skills: Politics (80), Business Management (75), Logistics (70), Negotiation (70), Intelligence (65), Etiquette (50), Blades: Longsword (50), Leadership (40), Intelligence (35)

More than twenty arcs ago, Ardan had started as Jersey’s squire before finally becoming his good friend. They both came from the same village and soon bonded over their love of blades and scuffles. Peopla had always scratched their heads when they see how these two people got along so well. Jersey had been brash and impulsive, while Ardan was solemn and thoughtful. Yet, their friendship withstood all.

When Jersey had the luck of marrying Sophia Krome and raised as baron not long after, there was no surprise in anyone’s mind when he appointed Ardan as his chancellor, his right-hand man. It was soon obvious that the Baron of Ragaeire was not cut out to lead. He cared little on the dealings and inner workings of a barony, preferring to drink and hunt. This left Ardan to pick up the slack reluctantly. He would still try to urge the man to care about the land he was leading, but it was more often brushed away.

Ardan had no quarrel with protecting Jersey’s reputation, still trying to portray him as a good leader in front of his people. Despite the man’s disappointment in his old friend, he felt bound to the honor of making sure that Ragaeire prosper.

Drako Diarmada :  Race: Human
Age: 27
Title: Marshal of Ragaeire
Skills: Ranged: Short Bow (80), Blades: Longsword (75), Mount (70), Tactics (60), Field Craft (55), Leadership (50), Logistics (50), Shield: Heater (35), Unarmed Combat (30), Animal Husbandry (25), Animal Training (25)

Drako had been a fortunate boy found by the warriors of Krome when he was young in the Wisp Woods, abandoned by parents who could no longer feed him. These men took him in and raised him to be a rebellious young man. Despite being a flirt and a troublemaker, there was no doubt in anyone’s mind that Drako was a born fighter, naturally skilled in the way that most people could dream only of being.

So much so that he was recruited to join the celebrated ranks of the Riders of Krome. Even amongs the best of the best, Drako’s capability still shone through and he was even hailed as a prodigy. He served briefly in the elite force that was given the honor to protect the Duke of Krome, but he served to be headstrong and free-spirited to hold the position for long. Rumors say that he was removed after seducing too many women during the parties the duke throw all the time. Despite that, his name was still often talked with respect amongs the people of Krome.

After the last marshal of Ragaeire had been hastily fired, Drako seemed like a good choice to replace him, considering his talents and records. These days the Marshal served dutifully in Ragaeire and enjoyed the freedom it offered in comparison to being the common soldier.

Reagan Uidhir :  Race: Lotharro
Age: 36
Title: Master Huntsman of Ragaeire
Skills: Ranged: Bows (80), Hunting (75), Trap Making (70), Field Craft (70), Detection (65), Fishing (60), Thrown: Daggers (50), Leather Making (50), Tanning (40), Leadership (35), Logistics (30)

Born as an adventurous soul, Reagan had spent most of his early life traveling allover Idalos. His parents claimed that he went exploring the wilderness as soon as he learned to walk. He loved the treks through unfamiliar forests more than anything. The dreams of his childhood remained unchanged even as he grew older, to see every part of this marvelous world.

No one and nothing could tie him down – at least that’s what he thought. One trial, while he was traversing Ragaeire’s woods, he found himself ambushed and ravaged by a wild animal. It had happened so fast that he did not even remember what sort of creature it was. Reagan would have died had a few hunters didn’t find him and brought him to the nearest village.

There he was nursed back to health by a healer, young and pretty. Much to Reagan’s surprise he found herself falling for her as they get to know each other. He was so smitten that he considered staying in the village and marrying her. As he spent his time there, he became well-known as a skilled hunter. The previous master huntsman saw the potential in the Lotharro and managed to convince him to become an apprentice. Naturally, he took the title once his mentor retired.

As master huntsman, Reagan was tasked with leading most hunts, collecting pelts, and making sure that meat from the games can provide the people. In Krome, hunters needed permission from the master huntsman in an effort to prevent the forests’ resources to be depleted too quickly. He’s also responsible in making sure there was no illegal hunters taking advantage of Krome’s floras and faunas.

Lavena Braonain :  Race: Yludih
Age: 29
Title: Spymaster of Ragaeire
Skills: Stealth (80), Deception (75), Torture (70), Interrogation (65), Intelligence (65), Disguise (55), Etiquette (50), Blades: Dagger (50), Politics (50), Forgery (45), Tactics (40)

Hiding. That’s how Lavena had spent her entire life. Born a Yludih, the woman was taught early how to blend in and go unnoticed. Her kind was ostracized for their ability and her parents tried to make sure that no one suspected them of being anything but human. They lived a relatively peaceful live in Ragaeire, for a while at least. It was ruined when their house was ransacked by notorious bandits, the VII. The Yludih family lost everything and had no one to help them.

To add to the injury, Lavena’s mother health started deteriorating. Perhaps it was the stress or perherps it was an illness, they didn’t really know since they couldn’t even afford any sort of healer. They could barely eat from day to day, much less by medicine. She tried finding work in the more sinister parts of Rynmere, didn’t give a damn about the shady jobs. Desperation came along soon enough. But Lavena refused to submit to the fates. The Yludih had always been exceptionally intelligent, but she finally decided to put it to use. Gathering thieves and conmen, Lavena started planning heists, targeting the wealthy citizens of Ragaeire. Plans so meticulous that it convinced the most infamous criminals of Rynmere to sponsor them. Unfortunately her plans never had the chance to be executed for one of the men blabbed to the guards. Of course, they were all arrested.

Instead of sending her to prison, the chancellor managed to convince the baron to spare the girl. Ardan saw the potential in her instead and recruited her to learn under the spymaster. He also gave her the nel in order to find a decent healer for her mother. His decision proved to be fruitful, for Lavena swiftly absorbed everything taught to her ambitiously. No one could tell whether her devotion came from loyalty to the chancellor or to further her own goals.

Once she gained the title of spymaster, Lavena proved herself to be invaluable to the Kromes. There was very little that she could not find out and almost nothing she couldn’t hide from the world. Despite having a number of men under her, the Yludih still preferred to do her own infiltrating and recovering, using her ability to ease her way through nearly every situation. However, to most people this deadly young woman was simply a castellan of Cairnroch, in charge of managing the day to day needs of the fortress.

Pea-Griff
Image

Appearance: This avian looks a lot like a Peafowl, but with one major difference, It had four, strong looking legs, built for power, speed and strength. Keeping their gorgeous decorated tails and apparent grace. Pea-Griffs are slightly larger than their distant cousins the Peafowl's. They have all sorts of builds, from lean to buff depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to, age, flock size, sex, and training. Typically their front legs are talons and their back legs are paws with claws.

Typical size for Pea-Griff males from beak to rump is about 3 foot, with tail trains that can be as short as 2 foot and as long as 7. Male wingspans are about the same as their entire length. Except those with exceptionally long tails. Rarely getting longer than about 6 or 7 foot.

Typical size for a Pea-Griff female from beak to rump is about 4 foot, with tail trains no longer than about 3 foot. Their wingspans about the same as the length of their bodies.

Color Variation : Color Variation across this species actually has been quite a conundrum. There's not really been a lot consensus as to how or why the fur/feather color matters to this species other than for mating rituals, and though some colors are considered "Common" There's only a slightly higher amount of Pea-Griff's that have the common color variations. On top of this, there are also other Pea-Griff's that have more drastic color differences. Such as the Arctic line that's mainly white's, grey's, blue's and blacks, which are more common in more Northern regions.

Habitat: Most commonly found in the Forests and Fields of Rynmere, though can be found in other parts of Idalos. Likes lots of room to fly and have fun.

Lifespan and Development: Average Lifespan 10-40 Arcs depending on if wild or tame.

Typical development of a Pea-Griff takes about 3 full Arcs before one is considered ready to mate, though they are fully mature after only 120 trials. A female Pea-Griff can have up to 140 clutches of 2-4 eggs in her life. It's not odd to find a family of up to 12 Pea-Griff's at one time if you spot one. Female Pea-Griff's choose their mates as their cousins the Peafowl do. The male's have to impress with their longer tail trains, and try to curry favor with the female with gifts.

Diet: The Pea-Griff likes river-fish more than anything, but will eat most anything smaller than it, as well as some plants. They don't need a lot to sustain themselves for a couple trials.

Temperament: Docile, Intelligent

Pea-Griff's will not attack without reason, and are intelligent enough to avoid basic traps. It's much easier to earn their trust than to try and catch them as they will run the first chance they get if caught against their will.

Abilities:

Incredibly Fast:

For a creature their size, yes they are fast, easily able to outrun animals like panthers and antelope, it's no wonder the saying goes "Now you see it, now you don't." When people talk about this bird.

Agile Hunter:

They use their speed to their advantage when on the hunt. Though not as silent in flight as some birds, they can strike swift and hard from above. Not to mention they're pretty good at navigating ground as well with their four legs.

Backwards Flight:

With the placement of their wings and their beautiful tail feathers, these creatures have the capability of backwards flight, it's a lot slower than their forwards flight, but it makes for excellent braking skills.

Fur/Feather:

Their Pelt is a combination of fur and feathers, protecting them from the harsh cold, but keeping them cool in the heat. They still though, would not fare well in desert climates.

Great Stamina:

These birds are built for flight, and for doing it a long time. There have been claims of seeing them flying from Rynmere to Etzos at full speed over the ocean without stopping.

Tamable/Trainable:

These creatures are highly trusting, but are intelligent. They will leave a "master" that is cruel the first chance they get, but they will be loyal if you earn their trust and will do their best to learn what it is you will them to.

Ridable (Tunawa only):

Due to their build and size, these guys are one of the more heavy duty mounts for Tunawa. Though as gentle creatures, they are an nice starter mount to get used to riding bigger creatures for Tunawa. It also allows for Tunawa to be able to carry more with them on trips.

(.25 to M travel times if ridden at full speed. Can't be ridden at full speed unless Mount (Pea-Griff) Is at expert or above.)

I love these and could totally see there being some pea-griff beauty competitions in Rynmere's future. A very fashionable pet for the well-to-do. Approved!
